Blue Note Records is hip hop: North South East and West
« on: January 18, 2008, 07:19:02 PM »
Blue Note Records is Dropping Science...  they are the home to some of the most widely used samples in the history of hip hop..  and now we get to hear where a good majority of this ground breaking hip hop came from. Artist such as Dr Dre, A Tribe Called Quest and Beastie Boys have sampled from Blue Note Records I am looking forward to hearing this I have always love to hear the originals songs of where samples came from.. it's a music history lesson and a very enjoyable one too.. The album title is actually called Dropping Science and it will be out on 2/12 and it will be amazing. check out one of the song below which had 4 samples.

Blue Note has been the quintessential jazz label for decades now, its nice to see them possibly get exposure to the younger crowd. that is if they can bare to stop listening to trap music for over an hour.
