That's the root...

When you're shy, you act unsure. You avoid everyday situations that may make you feel uncomfortable. Shy people do not feel comfortable around people they don't know, nor do they reach out to get to know them. It all boils down to not being confident in yourself. Feeling as if others are going to laugh at you or that you're going to say something stupid... or whatever.

Fear of rejection, insecurity and low-self-esteem are all factors of lack of self confidence.

Well, first of all, fuck what you heard, it's not a bad quality.

And I think experiences make you shy, not so much low self esteem and all that shit that it's supposed to mean. Experiences make you who you are.

I wouldn't say bad parents, its more like parents who never taught you social skills beyond "speak when spoken to." A lot of Latinos are like cuz that's how they were raised. Don't speak out of turn. DO as you're told. etc. The main thing with shyness is just to realize that people aren't  gonna laugh at you. People are to busy to care half the time.
