Reading the breakdowns of the exit polls were real interesting though. Hillary killed with the Latino vote. By breakdown of income and education, Obama only had a higher percentage in households making over $100,000 and post-college graduates. I'm really not sure about the other states because I haven't really traveled enough, but the majority of people that I've seen in Cali are either all talk and no action about their voting, or just don't care. I've been asking a lot of people about whether they were going to vote, and most said they had no idea of what was really going on. I heard one person at a bar yesterday saying that he preferred in this order, McCain, Obama, Romney, then Hillary (How he came up with that I will never find out). I know it's not exciting if you really don't feel like you can connect with a candidate, but you can't really complain much if you don't participate and do your part. Who do you guys think will have a better shot to beat the Republicans out of Clinton and Obama? I think they will pull out stuff about Bill's scandal, but I think it will be worse on Obama about his youth and his background. They might not directly say it, but you know they will do what they can to bring up his Muslim father, and also the fact that he has admitted to doing drugs when he was younger. However, I think Obama could handle the criticism and look better, but you never know. That whole flip-flop sandals thing was really effective against Kerry in 04.
I got a bird's eye view

Frankly, I like most candidates on both sides for once (except romney and huckabee). Both parties have had to step back and put forth liberal/moderate candidates in reaction to the huge backlash against Bush/neo-cons.

I like Obama, Clinton, and McCain(one of the coolest most moderate republicans ever). If any of them win, it's a huge improvement.

I've been asking a lot of people about whether they were going to vote, and most said they had no idea of what was really going on.

That's something I don't understand. We're talking about the future of their own country (and the world too basically) and they're not interested. I find that unbelievable.
Here in Belgium people older than 18 have to go voting. It's enforced by a law. And of course, lots of people evey few years complain "damn it, I have to go voting again. Who will I choose this time around?". I mean, you stupid motherfucker (excuse my French, lol)! Here we are, having a chance to somewhat change the way a country goes about the economy, health care, school system, etc... and these fucking idiots complain about the fact they have to get off their lazy ass to go to the voting booth.
Pisses me off every time comes election day. I can't help it. If they would turn the system around, and prohibit people from voting, those same fucking idiots would be the first ones to say "that's not right! We should have the right to express our vote". Ah...the way of the world. Gotta love it...or not?

you know what i'm proud of ^

in Kern County they sent out a permanant absantee ballot application.  so i think there's NO excuse to NOT vote.  they mailed me my ballot and i voted a week before everyone too! so i mean shit the government is actually making it EASIER for us to vote.

who can blame him?

and I like Obama and will have no objections if he wins but right quick:

How were you doing during Clinton's presidency?

I just want everyone to ask themselves that question cause Hill and Bill's policy is hella similar. Them cats have been together since college, ideologically speaking they are very similar.

Things have been the same for me through Bush Sr. to Clinton to Bush jr.

I really don't like the idea of 2 families having such a lock on the Presidency for 5 terms.

I agree with wanting some new blood in office. And props to the posters bringing up how lazy people can be about their votes. It's not tough to read up on the issues, and even if you don't feel like going to the polls or dealing with that, you can do absentee ballots, which I do just because it is more convenient. As much as I like Obama's attitude and what he represents compared to my disgust with Hillary, I think they are equal in their positions and how effective they would be. I also think Hillary has a better shot at winning the presidency, the negative ads will find a way to incorporate Obama's inexperience, Muslim background, and previous drug use as reasons not to vote for him.

I don't mind two families having that lock unless both fams are conservative. Both fams are strongly whatever spectrum they're on and I'm desperate for some balance. I think Hillary would be more aggressively liberal in the policy she would institute than Obama but like I said, I'd still be down with Obama.

I mind it.... if Hillary wins it will be a 6th term and if she wins again after that, it will be a 7th term of 2 families controlling the Presidency. That's much too much for my liking, even if I am down with that President.
