Romney is 'done', but won't drop out.  His best chance now is to try to fuck up the convention.

Romney just dropped out. McCain wins.

Oops.

The only thing I worry about is if Obama wins the nomination, are there gonna be enough evangelicals and hillbillies willing to vote for a Black man with a "muslim terrorist-sounding" name (even though he's publically stated that he's a christian)? A sizeable chunk of those guys are gonna have to vote for any democrat in order to win. So it comes down to whether or not the rednecks in the bible belt want to vote for a black muslim (in their eyes) or a woman.

Don't worry about it too much, those States will go Republican anyway.

^ yeah. but the Bible and Corn Belt don't have so many votes, it's a huge area but sparsely populated. The republicans could win by taking states like Ohio, Florida etc., plus the whole south is a stronghold. No one really gives a shit about Wyoming or Nebraska

The Dems can survive without Florida, because a good number of the Mid-western states will most likely vote on the Democrats side.  If you notice, Obama was winning in the South 2-1 and Clinton would only dominate close to that in her "home" states like Arkansas and New york.  If anything, Obama can actually steal a few Southern states.  When it comes to the swing states, both Clinton and Obama have enough appeal to take them.  Missouri, New Mexico, and even Ohio.  In Ohio, Clinton is up 23 points.  This upcoming election will look a lot like 1996, no matter who the Democratic nominee is.

yeah but Bush won by taking all those "good ol' boy" states. Kerry had all the densely populated states.

I think the ticket is going to be Obama/Edwards or possibly Obama/Hillary, and they will beat McCain/Guiliani.
