Putting it on the news was the stupppppidest thing he could have done.  No matter what anybody does, they're not going to be able to shut the store down.... because of the guy's life deed.  So no amount of bitching is going to accomplish anything, no amount of awareness is going to accomplish anything, etc.

If the reverend was smart, he'd sell his ownership of the building to someone else, then use that money to buy a piece of property he could open his church in.  Then he'd have what he wanted accomplished and let somebody else deal with the idiot with the life deed.

Any amount of attention in the news is only going to attract every bigot within 500 miles who wants to go there and see what's going on and buy a new robe.  If the man's business picks up, he'll never leave.

If they ignored him and got on with the business of their lives, he would be much more likely to run out of money and close the store.  He probably can't wait for the reverend to show up and fight with him over it, because he knows legally there's nothing the guy can do.  He hates blacks, so everytime the reverend shows up it's an opportunity to give the white guy what he wants.  Hatred. 

I don't know why people can't figure this shit out, I'm not an exceptionally intelligent person, this just seems like common sense to me.
