Nah, you can't 'lose' your ability to be King, I don't believe.  When he was messing around on Di, people kinda got mad at him, but he's still generally liked by the public, I believe.  Plus, he's the bloodline heir to the throne.

It is probably possible to lose your rights to the throne... let's say he raped, molested & killed ten little girls in one day... I doubt he'd ever wear the royal crown... but I know he's the bloodline heir.
