Funkmaster Flex Charged With Assault On Rival DJ

Radio wars hit a new level when radio personality Funkmaster Flex (Aston George Taylor Jr.) was charged with third-degree assault after allegedly smacking rival radio-station personality Steph Lova. The incident reportedly occurred at 12:30 a.m. ET Thursday morning (September 19) outside the studios of New York's WQHT-FM on Hudson Street in Greenwich Village.

According to sources, the altercation began as an argument, and afterwards Funkmaster Flex tossed a large amount of cash at Steph Lova, a female DJ at New York's Power 105.1 FM, before leaving the scene. A spokeswoman for the New York City Police Department confirmed that Funkmaster Flex was charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor that is described as physical assault without a weapon that did not result in serious bodily harm. If found guilty, Funkmaster Flex could face up to a year in jail.

According to police, Funkmaster Flex turned himself in at the 6th Precinct on Sunday (September 22). The DJ was given a desk-appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on October 18.

Funkmaster Flex's publicist at his Franchise Marketing And Record Pool offices had no comment when contacted by LAUNCH.

holy shit thats funny, a bitch move, yet fucked up too....funny that he steps to a broad....a bitch move that he actually stepped to a broad...but fucked up that throwin money at a hoe could get u a year in jail....lol...dumb ass flex....muthafuckas will be droppin bombs in ass if he gets time...lol
