I'll d/l it.  Hope it's along the lines of some Usher/MJ shit.  Not any fabricated shit.  Like the Nsync stuff.

They can be really dope, or really annoying.  I bought NERD, and it's actually pretty tight.

I think I'm gonna steal it. ;D

By the way, did you know that Timbaland has also produced a couple of beats for Justin's album?! Damn, that ought to be sick(!); that's kind of funny, too, because I used to think that The Neptunes sounded like Timbaland-juniors.

Did you buy the American version. I hope you did, because the European version's hella weak!

Here's the scoop...

The Neptunes originally released their N.E.R.D. project ("In Search of...") in Europe, but just when they were about to release it in the U.S., they realized that they could do better, so they completely re-recorded their album for the U.S. version, (which I think they released about 9 months later).

I can completely see why they re-did it though, because most of the songs on the European version sound weak (really fake, synthesized, and tiny), while the American version uses real, live instruments. (Also, I think that the American version has been mastered louder).

I disagree. I got both versions and I prefer the original one. My favorite joints "Bobby James" & "Run To The Sun" sound so much better on the first version....

I think the Neptunes are really dope at times, and then at other times they can be annoying. Their main problem is they normally work with average rappers who need them to make their songs sound good and therefore sometimes the songs get boring because of how boring the actual rappers on the track are.

On the NERD album thing, I do prefer the second version although what they did with the covers was very confusing, so I nearly ended up buying the first version. The American release has the same cover as the original UK release and then the Uk release of the American version has an entirely new cover. But the album is pretty tight although sometimes the lyrics can be a bit strange.

That new Justin joint is pretty hot, and if it isn't Nsync type stuff then I might seriously consider buying his album, 7 Neptunes joints and 4 Timbaland joints means it has got to be at least above average.
