After hearing the Crooked single, I can see now why Snoop says he a bench player

in da club might not be a profound record but its definitely a classic single wise - had a massive impact on the mainstream and launched 50's career sky high. there might be different criteria to judge a mainstream record by but there is still criteria - there's great singles, average singles and bad singles.

most importantly the beat has to be a serious serious banger - in da club is the perfect example. its sucess is something that all rappers would certainly try to get close to when aiming at the mainstream audience and especially when trying to break into the market for the first time. how close do people reckon crooked is gonna get with this track? it might be pessimistic but i'm being completely objective when i say i don't think its gonna get him very far. i'd love to see him do well but i don't think this track is of the quality to make a big impact on a wider audience. maybe if a currently hot producer like danja laced him with one of his dopest beats and akon was still on it....then crooked would get some spins...

its just all down to how hot the record is. if it simply serves its purpose as a mainstream record that it isn't gonna be blowing anyone up...

Sorry man, but "Certified" flopped compared to other artists not just "New West" artists (I hate that term).  Speaking as the consumer, your label sucked at getting the video out in time when your song was somewhat buzzing.  In addition, the video was poorly put together with low lighting and what not.  I'm glad you got $800k out of it but I would rather listen to "White Lightening Sticks" G. Malone than listen to the newly South influenced sound of G. Malone.  Hopefully you put away some of that money because from the looks of it, Cash Money iseems to be only interested in Wayne and Baby.  Atleast you got that Phantom though.
