fuck some of yall, this wasn't supposed to be "I'ma secret Ja Rule-fan"-thread.
He sucks major ass, and all of the artists JAE & Infinite listed is better than Ja Rule.
He might be number 1 when it comes to "Wannabe thug in luv-sing-a-long" pop-singles, but if somebody calls him one of the dopest rappers out now, they obviously can't listen to much rap.

and JAE: I didn't mean that Pun was too lyrical, I mean that he had a irritating flow, much like Angie Martinez is awful to listen to.

pun had a irritating flow? wtf his flow was amazing

I meant the combination of flow/Voice
I liked his lyrics, but some times he was just irritating, when he tried to do a whole verse without breathing out.

Yeah, I hear ya.  Sad thing is though, Ja IS one of the best rappers out now, but that ain't saying much.

That is a very stupid statement. Open ur eyes, there are rappers that are 100000000000000000000000000000 times beter than Ja Rule.

Coming from a true hip-hop head.  You don't even listen to hip-hop, you've said that many times, there's 100 talented mc's up under your nose you know nothing about.

Raise up off my nuts.  Ja Is in the top 10, and that's sad.

Open your ears.  Do'nt go digging for it, If you turn the radio on today, you will NOT find 10 rappers better than Ja Rule on the radio.  When biggie/tupac/snoop were ruling things, you had 100 rappers better than Ja Rule, but today, there's NOBODY.  Who's on the radio? I don't know about your town, but the ONLY people I hear on the radio in Charlotte, NC are Ja Rule, Nelly, and Ludacris.

If he gets shot, and he might be, with all the drama going on, I bet some people are going to call him a legend.
that always happens after people dies.
just look:

2Pac - was a dope rapper, but people has blown the whole thing out of propotion after he died. almost immortal to some.

B.I.G. - yea he was dope, but same thing as Pac, people overrated him after he died.

Pun - I never liked Pun's staccato boring flow, and sometimes weird rhymes, but then he died - boom... ppl calling him among the greatest rappers.

Eazy - yea, he was funny, he had the flow, but I never saw him as more than the 3rd best rapper in N.W.A.
Both Cube & Ren could spit better than him, but once he died he suddenly got this hardcore mass of fans.

I bet yall 2 cent, that if Ja Rule dies, people will be calling him one of the greatest, even if he can't spit if so his life depended on it.

I agree, tho I didnt consider Puns flow irratating...And I agree that Pacs fan base increased a WHOLE LOT after his death, but his music is real good n 2 me he'll always be tha G.O.A.T
I never felt Eazy E much, and he didnt write his own lyrics, so i cant see how sum ppl call him the g.o.a.t...B.I.G was a dope lyricst n had great flow, but I dont feel most of his songs and I agree he just blew up after his death...

As for JA RULE, I doubt hip hop heads would consider him g.o.a.t....
I mean the guys u listed up there are considered legends by many cuz they all had dope lyrics, flow or accociated with sum 'revolutionary' dope crew....Ja Rule, I dont see him spitting dope lyrics, he just talks about dumb shit, so I doubt he'll be considered a legend or anything...Atleast not by hip hop heads, peace

Don't worry, I misunderstood what u said. I thought you were saying that you thought Ja is one of the best rappers in the game.

I agree with what you say. It's pretty bad when we have someone like Ja Rule representing commercial hip hop.

So what you mean is Ja is the best radio-friendly rapper out there at the moment, but I don't agree with that because i'd say Ludacris is still ALOT better than Ja and he's got good sales and good radio play too. Shit, i'd even go as far as saying Nelly is better, atleast he knows his position, he doesn't try to act like some gangsta and he's not wanting to be anybody else but himself. I still don't like his music too much, but it's hell of alot more listenable than Ja's imo.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

yea, even when you limit it to radio-rappers, there's still dozens of better rappers than Ja Rule.

E.G. Eminem, Ludacris, Jay Z, fuck even the Clipse, Nas, fuck it even P.Diddy, and J.D. and the list goes on.
Ja Rule is POP-music, nuff said.

^^ I guess we just disagree, then, I feel Ja is one of the best 10 rappers on the radio right now, there's not many better.

If you count all the guys that ARENT on the radio, though, of course there's much better.

ja rule is not and will never be one of the best rappers in the game, he has made rap commerical as fuck and much respect to him for that.  if thats how he wants to get  his money and earn his living big up to him, I think some of his shit is good and some  of his shit is very good but still I dont really think his voice is amazing and I dont think his rapping is amazing.  In Ja's shit its mostly the party type beats that get me.

I wouldnt hate on Ja Rule if he didnt try to come off as a hardcore rapper, then change up his style when his second CD came out.. if he would've stuck with the same sound then he would've been coo', but no he went from hardcore to singing on a record and havin females all over his tracks.. Tupac and Biggie did blow up majorly after their death such as Selina did.. its like you didnt notice them while they were living and then your like.. "oh shit this dude died, ima try to check this shit out", and they start to feel them because they made good music...
To DARTH TRAUMA:
just because he is always on the damn radio doesnt immediately make him one of the top ten, there are tons of ppl. better him that are on the radio.. shit theres Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Clipse, JD, Xzibit, LL Cool J, Noreaga, Trick Daddy,  Dj Quik, Ludacris, Cam'ron.. there, where would you place Ja Rule??
