Oh shit this thread is back. Well just a little update on my behalf.

- I am bulding muscle mass since November, when from 86 kg to 95 in 3 months. My goal is to get quality muscle mass at 100kg, max. 105 kg till May, June

- Eating habits: 235 grams of protein, 250g carbs, 190g of healthy fatt. As you can see I am not using so much carbs because when I had like 350 carbs I was tired and sleepy all the time. How do you calculate how much to eat ?

a) body weight * 35= 95 *35= 3325 calories (which means an average I should eat per day is 3325cal)

b) If you're buliding muscle mass you need to have more than the ammount in a), if you're dieting less.

c) proteins * 4= 235 * 4= 940; carbs= 250 * 4= 1000, healthy fat= 190 * 9== 1710
sum= 3650. Which means I have about 300 cals in sufficit. How much depends from person to person; especially metabolism. I can gain wieght easilly so I don't have to eat that many extra calories

d) supplements: proteins, carb powder (I take these 2 after workout), fish oil caps, vitamin c and calcium + magnesium

e) Don't forget to drink lots of water and eat vegetables so you can take a shit like a king  ;D


Just some tips for all the fellow gym rats.

I guess i should realy srta calculaitng what i eat.

Is powders nessecry? And if so they are all natural right os i dont have to worry about side effects ie, headaces, sweats, palpiations or such??

HOw do you stay constabnt with what you eat, its damn hard what with work and everything.

I would say it's very useful after the workout. Because you need the proteins and carbs to get in your blood fast and powder is the only way. And you shouldn't worry about these 2 powders, you eat it every day in normal food. I don't fuck with anything else like creatine, BCAA, glutamin; simply because I don't know what it is and I plan to go study for a nutricionist in 3 years and untill I know everything about that, I am not eating anything else then protein and carb powder.

I don't work (I'm in college) but most of the time I also have a fucked up schedule and I always work in the summer for 3 months, 8 hours. It's not hard at all: you wake up in the morning and you eat your breakfast (consitent of proteins, carbs and healthy fat). Then the easiest thing to do is take some protein powder, some oatmeal and nuts and you mix that shit in a blender with water and you've got yourself a great meal. So to sum up, we have breakfast at 7.00 in the morning, 1st shake at 11.00 and 2nd one at 14.00. Let's say you get home at 17.00 and then you make yourself a lunch with meat, rice and vegies.

Word on the oatmeal i started eating it? Why is it so good tho?

My breakfest now consists of 1 banana, bowl of oatmeal and a yogourt or 2 with a orange juice.

then ill eat once at work once when i get home and then another time after the gym.

So i think a shake here and there could help uh?

Juts came back did some chest and tricep... One thing about doing with dumbells is im so concentrated on keeping my balacne i dont feel like its pushing.

Have you just started doing these excersises with dumbells ? If so, it usually takes a couple times before you get a hang of it and becomes a routine. Just use small weights in the beginning and you should be just fine.

glutamine is simple a recovery agent. And I just came back from the gym...hit chest n bi's.  135 warm up for 15 reps, 185 for 12, 225 for 8 and 275 for 3.

Im gunna pick up another member ship this week. i got broke like 6 months ago when i didnt have a job and couldnt keep up payin for it so now i gotta get back into it, have lost like 10 pounds since i stopped, all of the little muscle i had goin hah. My budyy wants me to go with him but its like david vs golith lol dude is huge and jsut started juicin and im tiny and will never think of touchin the stuff hah. I member like my 2nd time goin to the gym and im was so tiny and this like 300 lbs dude asks me if i can spot him inlcine dumbbell presses wiht like 85 lbs dumbells, i was like wtf haha

no...80s in total...yes 80s on each side...it's not that big a deal tho my friend threw up 110s today

here's a tip on buying protein powders from GNC.. do not get the 70g or 60 or 50 g protein joint for 80$$$ !!!
 

your body wont be able to consume all that protein in one sitting. your body's only going to absorb about 35g or so and the rest is going to get released in your waste. its way better to get the 20-35g joints at walmart and drink that 2 or 3 times throughout the day

I've also been hearing mixed results, I've never used, I heard it can damagae your kidneys if not used properly. And it sound like to much chemistry to me anways, I don't see the pleasure of being buff when you're using so many unnatural supplements.

i started working out in july was 135lbs with 4% body fat.

now, im 165lbs with 10%body fat.

mix oatmeal in with your protien shake for sure.

pullups all day.

5'9".  i just got hooked man, straight up drug.  went to bodybuilding.com and picked up mad game as someone suggested on dubcc.(i forget who)  and my cousin is an avid gym rat, he can squat 500 lbs and is 5' 10' 210lbs.

im on the bulking stage right now.  when i get to 165, i will start my cutting.  however, it is good that im still only at 10%, cutting will be cupcake(8pack lookin good!) plus im doing muay thai, thats major conditioning.

how often do you workout, do you go through the bulking and cutting phase?
