I think the beat was the same as Queen's 'Under Pressure'

Yeah, 'twas, well it was switched up a little but still. I think I remember hearing he almost got a lawsuit for using that sample too.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

I think the hate came from him lyin about his past. I'm not gonna front though, I liked him when I was 10. Hammer too. And to be honest, he dropped a hot verse on a Blood Hound Gang cd called Boom recently. He went by his real name though. Rob VanWinkle for those that don't know. Give it a listen and see what you think. There are 2 guys that drop verses. He is the one that talks about Vietnam, and Mike Tyson so you know. Doesn't sound like the Vanilla people are used to at all.

Yeah, I think thats ultimetly where the backlash started, when his record company released that biography about him and it said he was gang affiliated and all that shit & when his real background was uncovered by some reporter it sort of blew up in his face. Vanilla claims he knew nothing about what they actaully put in that bio but you'd have to be pretty nieve to believe that.

LOL, I liked that movie back then & it's pretty funny if you watch it these days, laughing at yourself for thinking he was a pretty coo' guy with those tramlines in his hair  ;D

Ha, he WAS a cool guy.  Everything about him was cool, at the time; a lot of people were doin' stuff like that.  I've never had a problem with Vanilla Ice, when people started dissin' him, I never did.  He did some things, but all the rappers out today are just as guilty.  He lied about his past... so does Dr. Dre.  Dre ain't never killed anybody. Snoop ain't never killed anybody.  Crooked I ain't out beating people up on the street like he says.  So, what are we laughing about?  Vanilla Ice wore those Ice suits, but yall all know what Dr. Dre wore in the world class wrecking crew.  What about those old pictures of Snoop with the Box?  Or Eminem's gay looking high school pictures, all the same thing.

As an Emcee, he wasn't ever really talented, but he could hold his own.  He never said he was the best.  "Ice Ice baby" was a great song at the time, everybody dug that.  If you want to hear two better songs off that cd, download "Stop that Train" and "Hooked" both of those tracks are tight.Typical Line:

"Now it's saturday, the day you hate most..
Why? Because from coast to coast
You see girls everyday in the club cold kickin' it
Remindin' you of baby when yall used to be wit it"

That's pretty tight, yall can't front.  I know yall all remember:

"And outta all nights, where was my crew?
Cuz this was somethin' I didn't know what to do
D already told me that the girly was strange
But I didn't know it till she pulled out tha chains
Walkin' and Stalkin' towards me witht he plan
Now I'm regrettin' all the things I done said
I'm drippin with sweat, why? Cuz I'm afraid
Hand cuffs and chains? That's a game I don't play
No doubt in my mind that this girly is the boss
Stop this train, cuz I wanna get off ~"

That stuff ain't that bad, in my opinion.  It's about the same as the stuff the Ghetto Boys were doin', and everybody thinks they're great.  He was just caught up in the wrong time period, then people felt ashamed about liking that song so much.

On his rock cd, he had a song called "Freestylin'" that was DOPE.  I dunno if it really was a freestyle, but the hook went "Freestylin' on the mic, off tha dome", there was about 4 of his boys, that freestyled the first part of the song, then Vanilla Ice, the same vanilla ice, comes in at the end and just RIPS IT UP, it's very, very tight, yall oughta download it.  It's called "Freestyle" or "Freestylin' and was at the end of his rock cd.  Another good track of his is "Pretty fly for a White Guy" he did live with the offspring a couple years back, they actually brought him up on stage, to do that song, and Ice Ice Baby.  It's on audiogalaxy.  He's done songs with the Insane Clown Posse too, that are pretty decent.  He's actually not bad at all, with all his rock stuff.  The rock remix of Ice Ice baby is great, I think.  AAIIIICE AAAIIICE BABBB-BBBYYY!!!!!! He's all screamin' and stuff, haha.  I think he's got an interesting story, he's handling all this stress very, very well.

I've heard that one, too, dope song.

Also, there's a song by some girl group (not sure which) from about a year ago, where they're talkin' about men with big dicks, and they got him to do a verse in the song, his verse is pretty dope on that, too.  I like that he still raps, even after people slammed him.

^^ I agree. He's rich beyond belief, so you know he is just in it for the music now. It is cool that he still does it among all the hate.

Ice Ice Baby was tight but he jacked that beat from someone else. I'd pick Hammer over him anyday.
