Author Topic: DUBCNN: Exclusive Interview With Erotic D (Dr. Dre, D.O.C., MC Breed)(Part 1)  (Read 1832 times)

Chad

Dubcnn recently sat down with legendary producer Erotic D, who has worked many of the iconic figures in hip-hop history including, but not limited to, Dr. Dre, D.O.C., MC Breed, Eazy-E, Suge Knight, Snoop Dogg and others. You’ve heard his production on D.O.C.’s underground cult classic Helter Skelter, as well as his 2003 release Deuce, and on MC Breed’s Flatline album. Well, these are just a few of the records he’s had production and input on, as you will soon discover throughout this interview that Erotic D has been always heard, but seldom seen.

During Part 1 of this exclusive interview, Erotic D chronicles with us his journey from starting out as a party DJ in the early ‘80’s to connecting with D.O.C., working with Dr. Dre and being involved with NWA from the beginning, as well as giving us a detailed, first-hand account of the Death Row Records formation.

Interesting enough, but the guy just comes across as yet another bitter producer claiming he did all the hard work for Dre. Then conveniently forgets which songs he's talking about. I find it hard to believe. It's easy just to say 'I found all Dre's samples, Suge told me I was a better producer than Dre,' without really backing it up.

How can he forget which ones, when basicilly almost every Hip Hop fan knows all the track names and even the lyrics. (of Niggaz4Life)
Then the (claimed) producer/song writer can´t remember the titles of the tracks  :P
I find it hard to believe.

true  ;)

especially the writer part is hard to believe  :P

The Predator

He's talking like he was one of the main players on 'Efil4Zaggin', '100 miles' and 'The Chronic'. From writing and producing.

To me his involvement at most sounds like another guy who dug out a few records for Dre who decided to sample them.

very good interview.
can it be that PARADISE was somehow affiliated with this guy?since she´s from TX and erotic is from TX?first time he mentions "mz. allen" but who do he talk about when he says: " One day I was chilling out with my female rapper that we had got the deal for. So now it is time to do her record because the NWA record is done. She get mad at me because I’ve been f-cking around with NWA and the Jackson’s, and not working with our group. Basically, I was recording with other artists and she didn’t like that. So, Suge sent her and my other partner home because he realized that I was the one doing everything: producing, writing, cutting, scratching but I was saying other people were doing it. I remember it plain as day, I get on the elevator with Dre over at the Solar Building, and Dre looked at me and said ‘you ready to make this money?’. I look at him and say ‘Suge didn't tell you he sent ol’ girl home?’. He said ‘I don’t give a f-ck who we record or produce, as long as we making money’. "

When Erotic spoke about his female rapper in this interview he was talking about "MZ. Allen".  Paradise was from DFW, but working closer to Suge. If you think part 1 got deep KEEP IT LOCKED FOR PART 2. Things was looking DAMN GOOD for a minute when DFW got connected with the West Coast then shit started fouling out. I hope in part 2 Erotic can shine some light on some issues that left some deep scares in DFW. This interview might give me what I need to find out who's pocket my bread in!!!! >:(

MZ. Allen is a female rapper from DFW but has been off the scene for a while. This interview has some personal value for me so lets just say that Erotic is opening some old wounds. But he has showed love from the jump. This music shit is heartless and if you take your eye off the game for a minute n***as will cut across the grain on you. I will be checking in and out as Erotic finishes the rest of this interview.
