Word. I'm from the UK, so I don't really have first hand experience of how each coast rates these songs. "Brooklyn's Finest" is a great song, but the beat wasn't anything special,
but to me every duet I listed had the best beats and the lyrics to match, which to me makes them better or in some cases equal duets.

The beat was indeed special. I bumped the track almost daily for 6 months after copping RD. I wouldn't have done that if the beat wasn't addictive. "Brooklyn's Finest" is the best hip-hop duet beat- and lyric-wise, in my opinion. It's all opinions, but don't say the "Brooklyn's Finest" beat was nothing special... because (with all due respect) that's straight BS.

Peace

Let me add:

Nas - "Nas Is Like"

A worthy contender.

That's fine, thats your opinion, I happen to think that the beat simply isn't all that special, not compared to the duets I called out. Great song, classic song, but the best duet in hip-hop history, not in my opinion.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Aight really we talking about EASTCOAST songs here... at least "Brooklyns Finest" was the best eastcoast duet in history. I don't think you all can front on that.

That was tight too... "Life's A Bitch" was more slow and laidback as opposed to "Brooklyns Finest", but it didn't have that unbelievable chemistry between two MCs which was present in said "BK Finest". I wouldn't say it is better, both songs are certainly classics, though.

Another tight duet.....

Just Rhymin With Biz- Kane & Biz

Personally, i feel Life's a Bitch to be a much better song....three incredible verses, and one of the best songs of of one of the best albums ever.  Brooklyn's Finest is great, but it never had the impact when it came out that Life's a Bitch did......only in the last couple years since young cats been buyin the rerelease of RD have they got all on this song, and that album.

KVB- I know what you mean, cuz Big and Jay had tight chemistry, evident in I love the Dough also.

"life's a bitch" is mos def a classic, and prolly one of nas's illest tracks, also prolly one of the greatest tracks ever, but as for duets, as KVB said, JIGga and BIG had mad chemistry, plus the track had more verses-it felt more like a duo, so it really was better  as a duet, "life's a bitch" had two verses( not that it makes it any less of a song, but it takes from it as from a duet....imo it din't feel much as a duet, i dunno how to explain it).

May I add, Nas wrote AZ's verse for that song. Not that it matters, just thought I'd mention it... peace.

I know exactly what you're saying... and I'm feelin' it... one more thing about "Brooklyn's Finest", you can hear the massive energy present in Jay & Big's verses... Big's flow is the best I ever heard from any MC... it just kills all opposition, just listen to it, it's like...  Jigga would rhyme 5-7 bars, then Big would take over rhyming off Jay's last bar, and vice versa, and they would continue like that for a long time (12 verses total) while still managing to spit incredible, breathtaking lyrics. Their chemistry is simply unbelievable. IF YOU FAIL TO REALIZE THIS, YOU ARE A HATER. (Nas & AZ simply cannot match it, just listen to their recent collaborations for proof). This song really special, like no other duet... it's not just a two rappers collaborating on a track, it's on a level completely beyond that, it's one of the best hiphop songs ever made, and it certainly deserve to be called "Best eastcoast duet of all time".

Peace.
