What's Fat Joe's best album?
« on: June 13, 2002, 08:16:26 AM »
I want to buy a Fat Joe album, cause I was watching his videography on Mtv Base a few weeks ago and thought that some of his stuff before his latest album seemed pretty hot. So which of his albums is his best?

I don't own any of his albums so I can't really give you a valid opinion but i've heard that "Don Cartagena" is supposed to be a pretty good album. Not that it really matters but his new album, "J.O.S.E" got 4 mics from the source, maybe that will help you out with your choice. According to them his lyrics are "sharper" and more "accessible" than "Don Cartegena".

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Oh shit, actually I do own an album he was apart of, "D.I.T.C."  ;D It's not a Fat Joe solo, I personally picked it  up first and foremost for the Big L tracks, but if you don't have this yet it is definately worth picking up, i'm not a very big fan of his but he suprised me on this record.

I recommend Fat Joe's latest album, "J.O.S.E. (Jelaous Ones Still Envy)". It's a dope album, you'll definitely be satisfied with it. A lot of great songs on there, specifically "My Lifestyle", "The Wild Life", "Still Real" & "King Of N.Y.", those are my favorites. I haven't heard his earlier albums so I can't really tell you anything about them... but I garantuee value for money if you pick up "J.O.S.E.".

Peace

I only got Don Cartagena which is a solid album, it's got dope guest appearences from Nas, Big Pun, Raekwon, Krayzie Bone plus others. My favourite cuts from the album are 'Find Out' (prod. by Marley Marl) and 'Dat Gangsta Shit' (prod. by Premier), it's worth buying.

Nahh homie I own all of Joe's records, and personaly his tightest lp by far is...J.O.E.

His first joint was aiight, but when Fat Joe came out with this lp, his status as a tight mc was concrete.
This lp also has the Official record debut of the Terror squad & Big Punisher.....Classic hip-hop peice of memoribilia right there.

A Krs-one Collab that is hard as hell.....
Sucess....
Envy (Rap's over "Sexual healing" hottness...)

A tight lp.....before all the acolades & radio play there was J.O.E.
Trust me with this lp....and then follow it up by coppin'

"Don Cartegena"
"J.O.S.E."
"Terror squad"
"D.I.T.C.
"Represent"....in that order.

IMO

Thanks for the advice.

I'll probably pick up Jealous Ones Envy if I can find it anywhere here in the UK, and then look for Don Cartegene. As finding them won't be easy it looks as if his new album will be my first Fat Joe purchase.
