Devin is in negotiations to be signing to Def Jam South!

J. Prince Entertainment and Def Jam South are doing a joint venture for Devin's next album. I'm praying that this shit goes through because that would provide Devin with the promotion and money he deserves! Devin was even talking about signing with Def Jam South in last month's Vibe magazine so it is not just some rumor. This means this label definitely has the best roster in the South. Devin, Ludacris and Scarface...

Damn I'm excited ;D!

Def Jam South is a pretty legit label, this will do more good than harm for Devin. Aslong as we get dope albums it doesn't really matter who their signed with  ;D

Can't wait to hear the 'Face and Nas track now after hearing the Jigga/Beanie collabo.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Scarface is doing a great job as president at Def Jam South. I think Devin signing to the label would be a good move. Luda is one of the most popular rappers out today and Scarface is gauranteed another platinum plaque with his next album. The music that is coming out is tight as fuck too. Well I know some of you hate Luda though. A lot of old Face fans might have a problem with him choosing East Coast style beats for his singles but if the music is tight, why complain? Rap-A-Lot has lost it's distribution deal with Virgin so that's why Devin's album hasn't dropped for over a year.

Yo homie....Ya read my mind, Back when the Geto boys & Face first came out they used to rap about getting no love from the East whatsoever....Now it seem's like the East has Placed Face on a throne.

Face deserves this spot....He's the tightest rapper ever to come out of the south....period & by far.
I'm just glad for his success, and proud of the fact that I was spinin' his records before the East knew of him.
ALot of east-collab's could hurt his fan base who has been with him from the jump.....but only time will tell.

I'll still bump it...

Peace

really though aside from luda non-east coast artists get the same promotion as others...they all end up getting fucked in the end....at least j.prince gives good promotion..at least i think he does....virgin is just holding them back.....and oh yea to wcv...i dont like that face comes with east coast beats....it doesnt sound right to me....he shoulda just let mike dean lace the album.....

Yeah I've talked to a few people that had a problem with Face's new production choices. Personally I like it because it's a fresh new sound for Face and IMO he can ride any beat nicely. Mike Dean, N.O. Joe and Tone Capone are definitely contributing tracks too but won't be producing the whole album like in the past.

I don't mind 'Face using Eastcoast style beats, it's good that he's trying something new, from what i've heard so far they're fresh and it's something new for the old fans and it'll pull in new fans. I find that his older style beats, "The Diary", for example were very westcoast style beats, and they suited him down to a t, very laid back and his flow is a prefect match for that. Mike Dean and 'Face are a good team but it's good for him to branch out and try different things, eventually he was gonna do it, he's been around for a very long time now.

I just can't believe that Neptunes are doing a joint for Scarface; that is some shit i don't wanna hear!

As for Devin, of course he should sign with Def Jam, they make hits.  TO those who way they don't do shit for Non--east coast artists, look at Ludacris!  Devin WILL NOT blow up UNLESS he IS on Defjam.
