« on: June 06, 2002, 04:01:33 PM »
ok i do feel nelly shouldnt go at krs one but i jus wanna say to everyone im a real deep hip hop head but i regonize realness and yes all the singles we here from nelly on some bling shit but what about the songs that aint singles
like this one song "lovin me" thats some of the realest shit i ever heard its simple but real and the beats nice and i can relate to alot of it  heres the lyrics and if u think im fake cause i gave nelly respect blow me

Ay yo ma, how you doin, it's ya son now
And I picked up the mic and put the drugs down
Now I'm tryin to do some things that'll make you proud
Instead of everytime I call it's to bail me out
Oh why didn't I listen to things you used to tell me
Knowin that everything that you said would never fail me
Like 'they got plans for ya
Ain't nothin I can do when them laws get they hands on ya'
But I ain't listenin, even payin attention
I'm just tryna get mine
Takin advantage, you would get two jobs at the same time
Ungrateful, complainin about Nike and Polo signs
But you always come through, and what do I do
I wreck both ya cars, stole money from ya drawers
Sold dope out ya yard, stayed into with them laws
Tryin to pay you back for all the stress that I caused
And always be there to give you whatever you want

(Hook)
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
Uh, uh, I said whatever you need
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
Uh, uh, I said you don't have to worry no more
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
Uh, uh, uh, 'cause ya son will be there for you
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
Uh, uh, uh

Now verse two, yeah that's for you boo
I send ya props 'cause you the only one that stuck through
When I'm upset and stressed you give me back rubs
When I'm depressed you give me head off in the bathtub, E-I!
On ya P's and Q's, on ya Q's and P's
You hear my beeper goin off and you just throw me my keys
Ain't even askin me yo is it coochie or G's
And for that reason now you can ask me for anything
Not a for real smoker but you choke with me
Not too hot about the drinkin but you toast with me
Livin at ya granny house you kept the dope for me
And wouldn't hesitate to go to court for me
Need money, my boo'll go and work the avenue
My boo'll fuck you up if I ask her to
That's why I do the things I do
And I will always be there to give you whatever you want

(Hook)
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
Uh, uh, I said whatever you need
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
Uh, uh, I said I don't wanna lose you no
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
Uh, uh, uh, 'cause you're my boo and my only one
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
Uh, uh, uh

I'm doin this one here for Shaun Haynes, Lashando and J.D.
D Quick, Boo Gees and Fatty
My nigga Lil' Erv, Gino and Poochie
and everybody over on Euclid and Labade
Young Big Touch, Pooh and Big Baby

The rest of my niggas up in the N.Y.C.
And without Trail, Cooter and Coach it just wouldn't be
And I will always be there to give you whatever you want

(Don't stop ever lovin me)
I said whatever you need
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
'Cause y'all my niggas for life you know
(Don't stop ever lovin me)
You can always smoke with me

krs1 made himself look like a foolish hater.

fuck krs1 and his raps, nobody wants to hear his played out garbage anymore - its all been done 10 years ago. if krs1 dropped an album today you 'so called' hip hop heads won't even buy it but when it comes to naming your all time top 10 greatest rappers he is on your list - bunch of internet sheep.

i'm not a nelly fan but i give him props. he saw a market and capatilized on it.

Man, KRS shits all over Nelly's so called realness. KRS is a real MC, he's never strayed from his roots, he's always been true to hip-hop and he's one of the great political voices within hip-hop.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

As an artist, I've always respected KRS since way back in the day. I sat down once and counted all the great KRS songs, I stopped like at 15, but could have kept counting. Fabolous, go watch TRL, and realize that KRS has done more for hip-hop than anyone short or 'Pac, Biggie, and Rakim. KRS now is a great hip-hop teacher, and he even said that commercial rap is a necessity, 'cause it puts hip-hop on the national forefront so that peope can enjoy. KRS is not a hater, as Nelly hit first after KRS told Nelly's people that in fact it was written before #1, and that it was not to Nelly, but Nelly did hit first. KRS only dissed Nelly after people told him too, and agreeing that it does in fact help hip-hop. I personally don't like Nelly, and after dissing KRS, I don't respect him. Come on, dissing a legend is hurting your culture. Your attacking the foundation that holds you up, after it was said that he didn't dissed him. I know Nelly has skills, but not much, and I hope KRS gets him good. It doesn't have to sell, LL beat Canibus with a track never released. Hip-hop heads will judge that, like Nas and Jay-Z, when Blueprint out sold Stillmatic, but people agree that Ether beats anything Jay-Z has put out. We'll see.

Spiritual Minded was mediocre, but KRS on his worst day is still 10 times the MC that Nelly ever is.  the track he put out on the radio about Nelly was decent, certainly far above any comeback Nelly could think up.  Nelly's wack, and he's just in hip-hop for the $, back in the day that would get you no respect at all, but hip-hop has become polluted by the characteristics of the music industry to the point where it doesn't matter if you sell out, as long as you sell.  So call KRS a "hater" if you like, he's speaking from a point of view you can't understand, hip-hop isn't a cash register, and the fact that cats like Nelly believe it to be so, and disrespect those who made it possible for him to do as well as he's done in terms of profits, is why KRS is going at him.
