Where's Jigga
« on: May 01, 2002, 05:32:02 PM »
The year Y2G2 ain't been good to Jiggaman. At the end of last year, he losted his battle with comeback kid Nas, but had what might be the biggest club banging album coming out, Best of Both Worlds. But before the release, album partner R. Kelly was accused of stachatory rape, and sales of the album came in at very low numbers. But Roc-A-Fella signed vet rapper Cam'ron to the Roc, and it's expected that his album is coming in full force. But still, Nas is slowing becoming the "King of New York" as One Mic, Got Yourself A Gun and Jay-Z diss Ether gets radio time. Can Jigga comeback to regain his throne, or has Jigga fallen and exposed as the rapper he is, above average at best but with great beats. Y2G2 ain't over with yet, but Jay-Z has been hit hard. This should be a time of which Jay-Z is celebrating and cashing in great checks after having a classic album Blueprint sell well, and should be getting singles on the air to keep his fans happy well he makes his 7th album due out this fall. Is he laying in the cut, waiting for the right time, where is Jay-Z on the media screen, and what's he got plained. Rap is slowly getting more hip-hop acts out again, as commercial rappers numbers are getting smaller, and fans seem to tire of the same songs. So can Jigga comeback in a Jiggyless world, what's your thoughts. WHERE'S JIGGA.

Blueprint 2 or "The Gift and the curse" will be out by the end of the year.
And he will put effort into this, cause he even canceled a tour to work on it.

Should be dope.

Jigga is far from dead... he is a platinum artist non-dependent on the quality of his albums (Vol.2 went 6x plat) and was his weakest album, so that just shows his popularity... no Nas diss can stop him, he's still gonna be the King Of New York... one

"above average at best but with great beats"

Thats basically how I would describe him, "The Blueprint" had some of the best beats I heard last year, no one album came as consistent beat wise last yr as "The Blueprint" did imo. But as far as his rhymes go they were just average, he did try to get away from that 'bling, bling' attitude compared to some of the shit he's put out in the past but it still wasn't very innovative or original content wise imo.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

pac is an average rapper who blew up with his controvercial image. he has never dropped an album over 4 mics.

x-z is the most consistant rapper on the west coast.

stillmatic is a 4 mic boring album.

Hahaha, this is rich coming from Faboulous' fan boy.
'Pac dropped 3 classics in a row, thats right, "Me Against The World", "All Eyez On Me" & "Makaveli: 7 Day Theory". & all the others that came before & after have been nr classics. Not many others can claim that.
& if "Stillmatic" was a 'boring 4 mic album' then Fabolous' debut was a - 5.

I think "The Blueprint" was a near classic album... IMO it didn't deserve 5 mics, but you gotta admit it was an excellent album... just look at the reviews it got.
