How is The Black Album a classic? The production is all over the place and Jay-Z actually managed to pick a wack beat from DJ Quik.

i likes it

prelude, show me what you got, beach chair, lost ones, minority report, 30 something...

on second thought, its not better than bp2, but my list is more about the feelings and good times I can associate with each album, really.

I didn't really like ag all that much, besides ignorant shit (which is just a black album leftover)

and vol 3 is TRASH. big pimpin + filler

Jay-Z Denies New Disc Entirely Produced By Timbaland, “If Kanye West Makes 10 Great Tracks Then He Produces The Album”

Jay-Z recently spoke up about his new album; denying claims by longtime collaborator Timbaland that the Virgina native will be responsible for producing the entire project.

“You know I love Timbaland, he is like a brother to me, but until the music is done it’s premature,” Jay explained to Rolling Stone. “I’m a person that works off music.”

Continuing to break-down overall production for the follow-up to his certified platinum American Gangster, Jay added that the credit could go to whoever makes the best sounding beats.

“If Timbaland makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album,” he said. “If Kanye West makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album; if he makes three, I’ll take three. I let the music dictate the direction.”

Switching gears to talk about his recent performance at the Pemberton Festival in Canada, Jay spoke on some of his crowd-pleasing skills during his live show.

“I change things up, I change ‘Encore,’ I’ll play the Linkin Park version,” he continued. “I have some other tricks, I play to the audience, I really want people to thoroughly enjoy it.”

Jay made headlines earlier this year after signing a $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation.

(sohh)
he doesn't need timbaland to produce the whole joint !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank god. 2-3 beats from Timbo are OK but I don´t need a whole record full of his shit. Hope Jigga will get some instrumentals from Kanye, missed his productions on "American Gangster" a bit

Er, aren't you forgetting So Ghetto, classic Jigga. I used to think Vol.3 was pretty good, but I look back now and realise it wasn't that special.

His classic albums are Reasonable Doubt and Black Album, with Blueprint pretty close. Don't really care about the others apart from a few tracks from each.
