with much respect to my homies Tech and Infinite
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:15:04 PM »
ya'all know that many years ago I was on that anti-establishment type many years ago. But over time I have actually threw my support to a mainstream candidate, not my Kerry I vote for him because his last name is not Bush, but because I truly think this man will lead this nation to where it needs to be. Tech and Infinite, well I never agreed with everything they say, I have always said both Dems and Reps is basically a decision of two evils, and if it wasn't for a man named Bush, I would vote 3rd party.

But with all due respect, especially after seeing Obama's speech on TV, I can say I'm a Democrat, this man has put faith in me that maybe, maybe, one of the two parties has finally got it, and we will see a president that will have the people in mind. I've been for Obama since I saw him in the community helping out the people, I knew this guy was for real. I still want a multi-party system, but for now, I can be completely satisfy with Obama as my nominee!!!!

Yes, let Obama become president, so that for once and for all he can ruin everything and maybe it'll be an eye opener for the people he's intending to help.

Did you really just let a hollow speech convince you? You must know better than that.

Come on MDogg man...  your just getting swept up in the emotions of the last few nights.  I'll admit that when I saw his wife speak, about her grandfather (or father was it?) using two canes to walk over and kiss her father, I actually had a tear in my eye.

It was emotional.  And when Obama spoke to the moment in history and about the "stirring" in the country I also felt that it was possibly a big moment in history....

But let's actually analyze what Obama was saying, and the speach loses much of it's impact, let me give you some bullet points you can respond to......

-Obama predictably claimed he could fix everyone's problems, provide for the poor, needy, old, sick.  Provide Universal Health Care, every American the oppurtunity to go to college, and so on..

-He said that being an American meant individual freedom--which is in step with the Constitution... but then he contradicted himself by adding--- it means (such things as) common purpose, coming together for cause greater than ourselves, shared responsibility----which is not in step with the Constitution and the founding principals--- and so on...

-Then he tried to sell us on the idea that although government has always failed us in the past, we shouldn't stop believing in government, because he can be the one to prove that government really is the savoir of the people (and not the free market)

So really, I have to ask you MDogg, because this is the fundamental issue at stake here.  Are you a socialist?  Seriously?  Because he was advocating socialist principals throughout his speach.  Now, if you are a socialist then I can understand why you like Obama.  Because he would make a great socialist leader.  He is honest, sincere, and I truly believe that unlike most presidence he geniunely cares for the less fortunate.

But please, I ask you to recognize that the policies he advocated throughout his speach were not in step with the constitution and personal liberty to own your own land, wealth, and pursue your own individual happiness according to YOUR OWN values.

Obama is nothing but empty talk and promises, a guy who keeps talking about hope and the future because he has accomplished nothing in the past. He has you completely fooled.

Giving good speeches doesn't make you qualified to be president. Results do, and Obama has never made any significant change his whole life.

The USA is an empire that needs to cause a lot of suffering in order to function as an empire. It may even get worse if Obama wins. McCain wins and the whole world watches closely and criticizes every military move. Obama wins and everyone will be tripping over themselves about how charismatic he is while the same shit goes down like how everyone was talking about Clinton getting his dick sucked while Clinton himself was approving orders that fucked over Kosovo big time. The only difference between Dems and Reps is that Reps get blamed for wars while Dems get blamed for taxes and spending. In reality they both act the same way. Bush spends more than anyone and Clintonian policies get more blame, or they blame the Senate. And Kennedy started Vietnam with LBJ taking into overdrive but somehow Nixon gets more blame for it than they do.

It doesn't matter who wins. I just prefer Obama because I'd rather hear him give speeches than McCain.

I'm just voting for the man cuz he's black and we've never seen a black man in that position of power before. Honestly. I have a feeling that's why a lot of people are gonna vote for him, fuck the bullshit...Sorry, I mean, "Change", "Yes we Can"..."Another bullshit political promise that doesn't mean shit"...He's black. We wanna see what happens with a black dude in office. Will lazy blacks still be so salty? Will our intl. reputation improve? Will the white house be painted another color? Will "nigga" or "nigger" be acceptable common place lingo for ALL races again? I'm voting for his black ass for sure just to see what happens...the rest of you can kid yourselves with disillusions of making change or a vested interest in American politics...but you know deep down that every president is still just a puppet for our governmental system of how the public should be ran..

There is a difference between the American government and the American public.

Co-sign... I'd have to say I agree... I mean, I grew up in American schools (public, tax-payer paid for government schools) and the greatest presidents we were taught about in history class were always the ones that lead us into a war.  Like Andrew Jackson (slaughtered the Native American Indians) Lincoln (civil war Federal Government power grab from states rights and civil liberties), Teddy Roosevelt (Suex Canal or Panama Canal, which was it?), Harry Truman, etc......it was usually the War presidents that were taught to us as being hero's.

...But it was never presidents like Grover Cleveland who had a hands off approach and limited governments reach into meddling into the affairs of foriegn countries abroad, and the personal and economic liberty of the people at home.

War is the reason why I am living in America and not a British colony. I could type this long diatribe as to how I could give a damn about other countries and their affiars, because that's how I really feel, but then the rest of the world turns around and says Americans only care about themselves. We also give the most aid to the rest of the world. Not to mention, less than 1% of the American population is enlisted in the military. Again, don't bundle me in with my gunslinging government. Nobody blamed the Russian citizens when Putin and his thugs invaded Georgia.

I can't convince you to care about other countries and their affairs.  But maybe I can convince you of how America's war mongering has actually reduced your own standard of living.  Here's a few bullet points for you to consider...

-the Civil War was hugely expensive.  International Jewish Bankers such as the Rothschild's exploited America in this time.  They loaned money to both sides during the war, and basically sold the country out to these International Bankers.  Instead of the US government producing their own interest free money, these International Bankers were given the exclusive right to print our money and charge great interest on whatever they printed.

-The Civil War reduced the rights of states.  Therefore now, a state has to submit to the whims of the Federal Government.  For example, in California it may be legal to run a marijauna shop but federal agents could step in and shut down your business and throw you in prison.  Or a state like Oregon that wanted to repeal the Patriot Act was not allowed to by the Federal government.  In nearly all instances since the Civil War the states have had to submit to the Federal Government.

-Wars always lead to inflation of the dollar.  For example, the War spending in WW1 and subsequent wars lead to inflation, money is printed to support the war effort, and even after the war, we have never been able to return our economy to prewar levels.

-One War often leads to another.  America's entry into WW1 prevented an armistice from occuring.  Lead by America, the Allies enforced such strangling and humilaiting conditions upon Germany that it inevitably lead to them getting behind a man like Hitler as the only promise of them ever regaining self-determination.  Thus leading to WW2.

-In Vietnam and WW2 a draft was used and ordinary citizens like you are forced to fight and die.

-Money is spent on weapons of war rather than items that would improve our standard of living.

-Government is able to use the fear of war to trample on civil liberties, eventually it gets to the point where they say they need the right to spy on all the population in any way they feel is just, in order to eliminate all threats, begin inprisoning regular citizens on suspicion.

Also...America does not just generously give billions in Aid to other nations as you think they do.  All that Aid usually comes with a price.  The country recieving the Aid must agree to IMF (International Monetary Fund) policy, or America's standards and regulations on "Free Trade", or agree to any number of programs and oversight.   It's basically saying giving Aid in exchange for control over the direction of a countries economy.  That's why there is a new trend of countries turning down this Aid, now that they've realized the dangers of it.
