Eh...I think personality defines musical taste in some cases...but sometimes, I think your preference in music can reveal some things about personality.

In the South, I barely know any "goons" or "thugs" that listen to underground rap, lyrical rap, or even the early 90's Hip Hop...95% of them listen to down south crunk type music. Most "neo soul" fans are usually more laid back and aren't the type that seem to love partying all the time and drinking. Most gangbangers in L.A. all love 90's West Coast rap. Most younger adults who love Jazz more than rap, R&B, rock, or pop are usually more laid back and don't really care for going out all the time.

Now for commercial music, like rap, R&B, or Pop...it doesn't mean much of anything, because so many types of people seem to like it....from the club goers, to blacks, to whites, to hispanics, to young kids, to older adults...so it's hard to really say.
