I haven't really liked much this year. Found most albums kinda boring or full of average tracks. LAX, Untitled and Raw Footage all had some dope tracks but were filled with mediocrity in between. I need to check Jeezy's album cause both Put On and My President were pretty good but knowing him the rest will be pure trash. Termanology one of my favs so far but even that doesn't compare to the best from last year or 2006. N*E*R*D*'s new album, Seeing Sounds, was real creative but the only two tracks i'm still spinning are Everybody Nose and Lasergun a UK bonus.

1. Nas - Untitled

IMO, this is the best Nas album since Stillmatic. No doubt about it. I could almost say that this was an 5/5 album... Pretty much the album of the year for me. I don't care what albums are gonna be released later this year. For me Nas = the best MC ever. The fact that he can drop an album which is atleast a near-classic 14 years after Illmatic... That's just unbelievable. Cube is another contender though..

2. The Game - L.A.X.

This was the album I expected the most this year... It was a good album and I got what I wanted. But still, with few different choices it could've been better. 4/5

3. Ice Cube - Raw Footage

I didn't expect this so much so it was almost a surprise that Cube made album this dope. It's equal with LAX & sometimes feels even better. 4/5.

Honorable mention to KRS-One's "Adventures In Emceein", the first half of the album was dope but the second half wasn't impressing at all. But suprisingly good album.

Q-Tip - Renaissance
Elzhi - The Preface
Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold
Nas - Untitled
Illa J - Yancey Boys

By the way Black Milk was a disappointment to me. I don't feel his new album, Popular Demand for life.
It's funky enough!

Terrible year in hip hop so far imo...
it was great year, much better than 06, maybe even 07

Akrobatik came out, Blu & Mainframe, Bun B, Gnarls Barkley, Elzhi, Heltah Skeltah, Guilty Simpson, Roots, Termanology... good music won't find you, you have to find it

Rap is not real, I don't care what they told you,
Fake people say fake things in their vocalbooth
- Soul Position - Mic Control

I make it hard to read me, graffiti flow - Rakim - Word On The Streets

Bun was wack
I'm not a fan of Gnarls Barkley
Roots was underwhelming
Term was aight.. but not memorable imo
But I haven't heard the rest, so you're right. I'll check them out eventually

but I don't think 06 is gonna be topped this year

Term and Heltah Skeltah both disappointed, Guilty could have done better, same goes for Roots
See these fans can't resist the rush,
they Wu-Tang for life
Scarred for life,
they can't forget the cuts

ay! how' about this album?

Kurupt & Roscoe - The Frank And Jess Story [2008]

it's banging!!!!!!!  8)
my fav track is "Lap Dance" - goddamn!!! I'm new Kurupt-fan!!!
8/10

also: Raw Footage, L.A.X.
but imho: Cube wit "Raw Footage" soundin' much better than Jayceon!!! I'm tired off "name-rhyming" and "Impala-64" word in every track. yea - Game is cool, but became boring as fuck with 3rd album!
in "The Documentary" - it was new & original  :D
in "The Doctor's Advocate" it was as a rule  ::)
but in "L.A.X." - it was boring as hell  :(
anyways: Thx to The Game for "Letter To The King", "Angel" tracks. they're best track's on album

Raw Footage: 9.5/10
L.A.X.: 6.5/10
