GB: T.K. Maxx sells jackets with knives sewn in
« on: October 03, 2008, 01:17:37 AM »

A SCHOOLBOY brandishes a potentially lethal knife — which came attached to a JACKET on sale at chain store T.K. Maxx.

Any teenager who bought one of the trendy hooded coats would be instantly “tooled up” with a 2½in blade. Astonishingly, T.K. Maxx sold the Swiss-made jackets a year after one of its shop girls, Rina Panchal, 26, was stabbed to death at work. The shocked dad of two said last night: “It’s scandalous, with all the attacks involving knives, that a big national store is selling them as part of clothing.” And Joan Holland, whose son Andrew, 16, was killed with a knife last year, said: “It’s horrendous. They’re promoting knife crime.”

The Strellson jacket normally sells for £200 but was reduced to £59 at T.K. Maxx. It has a chain attached to the lining with a knife on the end. The chain leads to an inside pocket, where the blade is concealed. Steve discovered the knife while looking for a coat at T.K. Maxx in Farnborough, Hants.
He said: “I pulled the chain and out came this knife. I couldn’t believe it. It was actually part of the coat. Imagine how you would feel if you bought that for your kid.

“I was on my way to football and needed a coat — but if I had bought this I would have been nicked trying to get in. “I asked an assistant if it was acceptable and she said it was probably a camping coat.”Carpet cleaning specialist Steve added: “What has it come to when clothes become weapons? It’s just encouraging kids to go out with a knife.”
A T.K. Maxx assistant who did not wish to be named admitted: “With all the knife attacks, it is pretty stupid to have these on the shelves.”
It is illegal to market a blade in a way likely to encourage violence or to sell knives to under-18s. Hampshire Police said they would give “appropriate advice” to the store.

But grieving Joan Holland said the firm deserved a fine.Joan, 44, of Farnworth, near Bolton, Greater Manchester, added: “It’s sending the wrong message. The police say, ‘Don’t carry knives’ — but T.K. Maxx sells them with a jacket. “Someone could get hurt. I hope whoever came up with that idea gets a big fine.”

England and Wales had 258 knife killings in 2006/07. William Alikori, 31, hanged himself in jail after knifing Rina Panchal 11 times at her T.K. Maxx store in Thurmaston, Leics, in January last year.
The firm, which has 180 UK branches, cleared knife jackets from its shelves after being contacted by the Sun. It said: “T.K. Maxx supports and enforces all laws with regard to the sale of knives. We became aware that a branded coat on sale included a pocket penknife as a promotional gift. “We removed the items swiftly from the supply chain. All store teams have been alerted to this and as a matter of urgent priority have removed all related items from shops.”

The real issue here is not the knife, its the fact that everybody knows the store's true identity is TJ Maxx not TK Maxx.

TJ Maxx uses the name TK Maxx in the UK to avoid confusion with TJ Hughes.

It looks like a pretty nice jacket though, give or take the knife.

I think it is perhaps because the knife is concealed so parents might not know of the knife if they themselves purchased the coat for their kids, and the fact that it is attached to the coat, so it can't be taken off when the kid goes to school or something like that. I don't know about the UK, but there have been plenty of murders at schools in the US.

Millitant man really hazardous shit.

check this.

:bomb:

Brits led astray by bad navigation.  Sothern Iraq, Saudi AWACS.  For me this is not a coincidence.

These crashes are the result of intentional sabatoge by Huges, from the private sector, they were able to get these AWACS in place and operating in the now current combat zone.  There have been crashes that point to just such events happining.  f18/hornet flies in front of an active patriot battery.  2 18/ hornets fly into mountian at nite.

My father was an employee of Huges.  He was billed to the Saudies as an engineer, he has a political sciense degree from the Defence Intellegence College, in Washinton, DC.  His business card said he was a Techinical Trainning Enginner.  While training the Saudies in the early 90'S, he repoted back to Hughes that the planes wern't working right.  They told him to shutup about it and continue as though nothing had happened.  After 1 or 2 more trips to the desert to train the Saudies he decided not to go back for fear of his Trainnes finding out about the deseption and cutting off his head.  He said the problem with the planes was that they were miscalibrated, resulting in operators failing to make vectors, and or, downloading faulty NAV to other planes in their operating areas.  The Saudies now have 5 of these planes working in their turf.

I don't think Bush even knows about this trick Huges is playing out with the lives of coalition forces in the area.  6 Blackhawks went down rescuing sone of the oil Execs. in Sudan.

Bush and his old school money friends, real republicans, the kind that think world over population should be curbed by

about 4 billion! Any way they are the only benefactors of this bail out and it would have been necessary even if the vote on

it came after the election.  Bush may actually try to enact emergency powers act to stay in office.  Not a bad idea since

none of the candidates is qualified. 8)  Pardon my candor but i believe that you vote has only counted as a way to encourage

mass belief that the issues that the candidates are elected on are seldom part of their actual governmental polices, changed

to suite congress, special intrests, or other big money factors having nothing to do with their citizens wishes or votes.
