glad to see my review was accepted... i was half-expecting people to blow up at me.

personally, I like the neptunes. their track was good - not outstanding, but I liked it. I think the hook is the worst part of that song actually

I find with the Fix some older Scarface fans found it had too many guests and felt the production was out of place. Most younger Scarface fans were introduced to his music first with this album and The Source also gave it 5 mics at the time (IMO if they gave it for that they should have for a couple other earlier ones but hey that is just me). The one thing I love about Scarface is there is a steady progression in his rhymes from his first one to now. Many find his voice and delivery boring at times but lyrically he can hold his own against anyone IMO. And has for over 20 years.

forgive me

1. Intro: N/A - pretty boring intro
2. High Powered: 2.5/5 - filler imo. the beat isnt interesting at all, and the hook is simply ok, I don't think I'll ever listen to this again
3. Forgot About Me: 3.5/5 - wayne isnt too bad here. his new deliverys still a problem, but I'll give him a pass here. beat isnt great (it could change up some more), but it fits the track. everyone  holds it down, but noones outstanding.
4. Can't Get Right: 4/5 - I've heard this sample a few times in the past. This ones flipped nicely; lots of added elements fill it out here, and bilal is great on the hook. This shouldve been the intro.
5. Still Here: 3/5 - not terrible, but pretty unforgettable.
6. It's Not A Game: 3.5/5 - i like the hook. track drags out for too long, though. neither face nor the beat can hold my attention for three verses
7. Who Are They: 2.5/5 - guy before was right. k-rino sounds like david banner mixed with juvenile/some utp guy. face's verse here was questionable to me, and the beat is boring too. appreciate the features
8. Soldier Story: 4/5 - GREAT beat. Z-Ro comes through on the hook too. who are all these no name rappers, though? Wouldve preferred this to be solo. -.5 for that
9. Redemption Song: 2/5 - yawn.
10. High Note: 3.5/5 - forgive me, but I just dont like scarface. maybe its just his voice. i dont know. that aside, this song isnt that bad. a bit long once again - a feature mightve helped
11. We Need You: 3/5 - is this a diss? if it is then it gets extra points.
12. Unexpected: 3.5/5 - i think face makes these beats seem worse than they are. here the song is kinda boring to me, but I know if i heard a rapper i like on it i'd think it was a pretty good beat. hook and verse are both generic/boring to me
13. Emeritus: 3.5/5 - solid song... not outsanding, but solid
14. Outro: N/A - pretty boring outro. I noticed most of his cds have intros/outros like this though, so theres no reason to stop now

Overall: 3/5 (maybe.)

meh. boring beats, and im just not a fan of face - i dont see anything special about his lyrics, or his flow/delivery. the beats here dont help either.

Pretty much the same. Never liked him, probably never will, he get's boring very quick. Matter of personal taste I guess.

+1 to both...
Hey thanks for giving your 2 cents on it. Respect your opinion even if I don't feel the same.

yep....  ;)

^world is yours The Fix is his worst album to me; 7.5/10

^^^^ fixed  ;) ^^^^ but it still gets a 3 out of 5  ;)

Related thread;
Scarface: Fix Appreciation Thread

:oDamn, "The Fix" is a classic album to me. The Neptune's only produced one song, and it was dope ("Someday" w/ Faith).
I had no problem w/ Jay-Z on "Guess Who's Back", either. But, everyone's got there own opinions :)

+1..and remember this comes from a Scarface fan  ;) 3 out of 5 ain't bad... and it's in my opinion his "worst"  :P

^damn, no way fix is his worst album..many think thats his best..

Jay-Z  :-X  >:( Neptunes  :-X  >:( enough said  ;)

ya wow chad its 1 thing to hate the Neptune's, but the 1 track they did was SICK :o

Fuck em...  >:( >:( >:( and fuck the track  >:( >:( >:( >:(
I actually like two Neptune's tracks;  :o :o  Snoopīs; Vato and Noregaīs; What, what (or what it's called again....)

^damn

I've done a lot of discographies in my time. there is not an artist i have seen who holds one better than scarface. there are no weak albums in this man's discography, which is why i call em the g.o.a.t..can't say the same for jigga, nas, PAC, cube, eminem, snoop, etc.

I would not put PAC on that list though Luna IMO. You got to remember past Makaveli he had no say in the albums that came out after that.
Now if they were put out in OG form, I think his catalog is all the better as good if not better. It is as good if not better without them up to Makaveli.

I ain't even counting his post-death albums (PAC).
He is the only artist who comes close (not even arguable IMO if Snoop, Nas, Cube, Jigga have avg/wack albums).
But I still feel some PAC albums had some filler which I felt Face never had.

-Pacīs two first is average... Me Against The World and All Eyes On Me is bonafied classics. Makaveli is cool.
-Snoop... ehhhh enough is said about him.  (link)
-Nas and Cube; They got their ups and downs
-Jay-Z; Hate  >:( :-X him,so I'm better off not speaking on him.
-Face/Geto Boys; Yep he takes the crown.... hands down.

^yep, Face has the greatest discography of all time.

No competition.
-UGKīs is pretty good too
-Too Short (he fucked up after his 10th album  :-[,but....)
-MC Breed Had his ups and downs, but pretty solid.
-Devin  How could I forget about him?

 @ topic titles change

glad to see my review was accepted... I was half-expecting people to blow up at me.

I'm sure he got some... but maybe not here

Well observed  ;).... yeah the guests and production was out of place, they tried to break Face to a bigger audience.....
sure the cats on the East Coast paid attention,he got shit played on the radio in NYC and got on their precious mixtapes  :-X
Even biased ass Source magazine bought into the hype  >:( >:( >:( >:( :-[ :-[ :-[ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
as D-Nice pointed out his earlier albums deserve the classic stamp more... it is what is.
I saw that album and still sees it as "sell out" move...  :-[ :-[ :-[

i heavily disagree; not sure who has the greatest, according to me, but Paris got a good one, especially with the addition of Acid Reflex.

Oki... consistent average then  :P

I would rate his three first somewhere around 4-4.5... his 4th (Ruthless For Life) 2.5  :-\... so he fucked up with that.

Anyway came over Source Magazine review of "The Fix",will scan it later  ;)

Ruthless for Life was disappointing, but it had some good tracks on it.

anyway, i agree with you that he has a nice catalog

Just on top of my head;
The Intro and Coming After You (with Cube) is the only ones that's memorable  :-\....
The track with RBX and Snoop sucked ass,due to the wak ass beat LT Hutton gave them  :-X >:(.....

-Kizz My Black Azz
is almost flawless,but a little short (it's a EP after all  :P) 4.5/5
-Shock Of The Hour
the cult classic .... far from perfect, there's a couple of tracks that got go.
("You Wanna Fuck Her" and "Shock Of The Hour"... the hook sucks) But the overall feel still leans towards 4.5/5
-The Villain in Black
Love this album, but there's a couple of tracks that's "boring" (It's Like That and Still the Same Nigga)
But the overall feel leans towards 4.5/5  :P ;)
-Ruthless for Life
Only memorable tracks was the intro (Ruthless for Life) and Coming' After You.
There's a couple of other alright ones,but overall it's a weak album.  :-[ :-\ 2.5/5

That's pretty strong if you ask me....  ;)

whoa, you're dissing Shock of the hour  :oi:
nah i can see why you have a problem with the hook  ;)

I'll add my 2 cent! I fisrt heard face with the early GB stuff and been following ever since, I've never been disapointed with any of his albums yet. I love "the world is yours" it was the first solo Face album I got and it still gets regular spins as does his whole catalogue.

I give Emeritus 4.5 and would maybe give it 5 but for me the Lil Wayne featured brought the rating down. I don't rate wayne at the best of time but having him on a track with 2 legends like Face and Bun B just made him sound more rubbish than he usually does!!

I also agree Scarface = G.O.A.T

Peace

Didn't take long, to make her get it on, came on strong
