Wow Chad, I'm surprised you gave Cube's first CD such a low rating & you gave "The Nigga Ya Love To Hate" a 4??? Damn, check out the 3:30 point of the vid below. I hope it makes you appreciate the song alot more. It sounds more up to date.

he gave it a 4/5, similar to 8/10 ;)

lol @ the review of Lethal Injection with the title "Ice Cube goes pop"
Seems like the reviewer has no idea of (westcoast)rap.

It's Hip Hop Connection,so don't bother taking the review serious.
They gave The Chronic 3/5 and Shock Of The Hour 1/5  :o  :-X :-[
I posted the reviews here;

I've seen Cube perform "The Nigga Ya Love To Hate" live a gang of times.
Including on the "Up In Smoke" tour.  ;) (a lot of shit is edited out on the DVD  :-[ :-\)
Yeah it's a hype track, and works well live..... and hey 4/5 is pretty good in my book  ;)

Chad you are crazy and unorthodox in the way you rate shit, but i do know where you come from and i agree with you to a certain exten because I too've seen Cube live and they hype from his albums on my computer isn' the sa,e as a live performance.

Amerikkkaz most wanted is fuckin classic probably my favourite cube cd. The beats are nice old school with tons of samples and scratches which i love and cube rippin them to shreds. My next favourite is probably Lethal injection then Death certificate then the rest which i dont bother listening to much

Bumping the Peace Disc lately. Production was strong on this album but it is nothing more than a party album IMO. If it was not for the song Hello this album would have flopped pretty bad. Cool album to cruise around to, but I rank it pretty low in his catalog.

One thing I did like about the Peace disc is the song Until We Rich. Man what a great song. Hello too of course, Gutter Shit is banging, Nigga Of The Century. It had some good songs on there, but still overall I don't rank it high.

The Peace Disc had some real bangers on there like Hello. Until We Rich, 24 Mo Hours, Record Company Pimpin', Nigga of the Century and The Gutter Shit.  Unfortunately, it also had some sub-par or just awful joints like Can You Bounce? (WTF was Cube thinking?), You Can Do It, and Gotta Be Insanity.

This is by far his least consistent album in his catalog.  I also believe it sold less than any of his other albums put out through Priority.

Yeah even with all that it sold around 900k which is not too bad but he would have easily went plat if it was more consistent.

yeah it makes sense why this opinion is shared by a couple of "us".

one thing doesn't add up to me though, Laconic.
i mean it makes sense that D~Nice, Chad and i like Hello, but how can you not enjoy the new concrete criminals song but like that track at the same time?
perhaps i'm looking too deep into this, but i can imagine that you would prefer Straight Outta Compton over Niggaz4life for example  ;)
