Hell no, neither one is an upgrade for the 49ers. Vick has already missed 2 full seasons and was electrifying, but not great when he was in the league. Cassell had a good season with a great receiving corps and great coaching against a very easy schedule. He doesn't throw a good deep ball, neither one of them is a better option than Shaun Hill. Not to say he is going to be knocking down the Hall of Fame's doors in the future, but he is a good leader and the team would have given Arizona a run for their money if he started the whole season.

Vick and Cassell could be serviceable with the right gameplans, but some team will give up wayyyyy too much for Cassell, and the same would be true for Vick but I'd imagine the public backlash would be too strong and scare teams away.
I got a bird's eye view
