the problem with cracking a password on a .rar file (or most files) is that there is no vulnerability in the actual archive, or the way its done etc.. so you're relying on the dictionary attack method. basically you have a .txt file with every single word known to man in it, and it tries each of these words as the password to the file. the problem with this is that it's normally all lowercase, so you have to go through the file and have different combinations if there's uppercase characters, something like:

business
Business
bUsiness
buSiness

if there's multiple uppercase characters then you need that combination, if there's numbers add that shit in.. basically you can crack it, but you will in a coffin before you get the password. if this guy has "cracked" the password he probably knew it already
