My 1 Year Anniversary of my Submission!:the Story.

I submitted to Islam one year ago today.  Feb. 20th, 2001.  

The events leading up to my conversion.

Late January.  I had hit rock bottom.  Overwhelming frustration and confusion was controlling my life.... I finally just went crazy... I still had 4 months left on the lease to my apartment... but I just packed up my shit and left, said Fuck school, fuck my job, fuck everyone and everything..... I went through Chicago for a night... then headed for Detroit... but I had gotten lost so I was in the bad part of Michigan actually, Flint... Then I drove through Cincinatti, and on down to North Carolina...There I visited one of my friends who was in college on the East Coast.  Only 3 hours away, was an x-girlfriend I knew who had told me to come visit her, but when it came down to it, I think she thought I was fucking crazy, which she was right, and she didn't want to see me.

I retreated back home to Kansas City.  First staying at some friends apartments.  And then finally back to my crib.  The whole trip was less than three weeks.

My homie H20 helped me get my job back doing nightstock.  My first night back at the job.  I was feeling as low as ever before.  I couldn't even get myself to do the work.  I just felt like sitting down, and not moving to ever get up.  And finally I was like.... "Yo, my life is out of control, I need serious help, I've got to make a serious change, and now!"

Fortunately, I had previously worked at a job were this dude from Africa had taught me about Islam.  I was too full of selfish pride at the time to open up to Islam.  But I learned about it, and enjoyed talking to the dude, I really looked up to him.

But in this my moment of ultimate dispair, Feb. 20th, 2,000.  I had given up on the know-it-all selfish, hardass, pride, that I'd lived with so long.  I had absolutely nothing.  

And it was in that moment.  That I made the desicion to submit to Islam.  And open myself up to all the discipline and knowledge that the religion had to offer.

It's been a long hard road.  It wasn't like god struck me with lightning and I've never had any worries or fears ever since.  Everyday I've worked to improve myself.  And little by little it's paying off.  And now I have a whole year to look back on for inspiration.

yeah well done,all of us might not choose the same path to God but as long as it is to God who cares how we get there?Just as  long as we get there,and we get there following His words and His advice down to the sec,I know sometimes we don't see eye to eye on certain things that is the beauty of human nature,none of us should because if we could we would all be the same!!!!!INstead let us rejoice in each others good fortune and wish each other well as we travel down a path that was chosen for us so long ago by a man that was just a carpenter..........

LOL... well, we half way believe in that, for us, Jesus is on the same level as Muahammad..... they were both highly exalted prophets..... But to Muslims, prophets are humans, not to be confused with Allah, the most high, the Infinite, Omniscent Creator........ Anyway, thanks for the comments ya'll..... Peace.

Later on on yur life u should write a biography on yur life 2 inspire people about Islam, maybe u should start on it now and as yur life progresses, write more.........
