I was expecting much more from these 4.

When's the album coming out?

nah there's not really anything new going on here in terms of khalil's sound, not that that's a bad thing in any way at all. the guitar, organ, drums, synth and vocal sounds are very familiar khalil territory - a strong rock influence. you can hear these elements all over his discography.

nice track though! 8)

but i think that defari track really upped the anticipation for what people were expecting from this one. imo its the right vibe for a clipse track and very catchy. good shit.

It's actually more of a throw back Khalil vibe wouldn't you say ? Before he started using Reason and doing beats on some Mars planet shit like I'll Still Kill, Esco What It Is, City Lights, On Top Now.... For example Da Shit from Game sounds simillar.

Yeah i immediatly thought of Xzibit - Poppin Off

Yep yep, I think the anticipation that I had, ever since Octo announced it in like February kinda set unrealistic standards. The more I listen to it, the more I absolutley love it. They all destroyed the beat, even Kanye, haven't heard him spit like that in a long time.
It's a grower, you'll see.

The thing is that we all expected him to use his new style. It's wierd actually, you'd think he'd use it on a track for Clipse and Kanye, which could get him the mainstream recognition he deserves. Instead he went the safe rout.

He should've done something like this:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/C5Y-MkrlFg4&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/C5Y-MkrlFg4&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1</a>

^^^ nah. Sometimes it aint always about having a beat thats bare complex or got loadsa stuff goin on like that fab beat (which was kinda hard to rap to unless thats just fabs incompetence). The beat suits the Clipse cause their beats have always been quite sparse with the neptunes (usually a couple instruments and them rappin theyre ass off). I think once its put in context wit the rest of the album it will fit well.

i gotta admit the fab joint was way doper i could have definitely have imagined closer sounding to that than this one for this track but still very dope. that fab one is probably a little slow for a single to be fair, but the beat is crazy! 8)

and you got the defari joint...that is crazy banging and sounds like it was made pretty effortlesly. khalil probably has some REALLY dope stuff in the pipeline. i'm wondering whether they will wait for detox before he comes out with any next next level stuff though.

I doubt Malice & Pusha would've allowed Kanye on his autone trip.
