BREAKING NEWS: Flesh-N-Bone's Felony Gun Charges Dropped
« on: April 20, 2009, 11:10:02 PM »
Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's Stanley "Flesh-n-Bone" Howse had felony gun charges dropped today (April 20) in a Santa Clarita, California courthouse.

Gun possession charges against Stanley Howse, one of the founding members of the rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, were dropped today in a Santa Clarita courthouse.

“The defense turned over some information, and we investigated and realized we were unable to proceed with the charges as filed, so the judge dismissed the case,” said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles district attorney’s office.

Howse, who is on parole, was pulled over April 2 by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies, who noticed a brake light was out on his car, Robison said. Deputies then conducted a search of Howse’s vehicle and his Canyon Country home, where they recovered a 9-millimeter semiautomatic pistol.

The Grammy-winning rapper known as Flesh-N-Bone was arrested and charged with gun possession by a felon. Howse, 35, and his attorney Shepard Kopp, of the Geragos & Geragos law firm, have maintained that the weapon belonged to Howse’s wife, a Chicago police officer who is on leave from the Chicago Police Department and recently moved to California.

The dismissal of the case left his client “overjoyed,” Kopp said.

“It vindicates what I’ve said from the start of this case, which is that Mr. Howse did not possess any contraband,” he said. “When you haven’t done anything wrong and you wind up in jail it’s a pretty traumatic event. There’s still a parole hold, and we hope to get that resolved within the next week.”

Prosecutors said Howse has five prior felony convictions dating back more than a decade that include assault with a semiautomatic weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and assault likely to produce great bodily injury.

I can't imagine how it feels to be twelve years in a prison and when you get out, you find your pet Tamagotchi lying dead at your home. Usually rapid changes in life can cause ex-convicts drift back to their old criminal activities since they don't know how to process the stress. Also, ex-convicts can react negatively to advances in technology. Hopefully some one will tell him that Walkmans don't exist no more and explain him what an Ipod is. All this need to be sorted out in a familiar and safe environment with his family around him in order to Mr. Bone to make a full recovery back to today's society.
