And, just because you were let-down doesn't mean Kingdome Come or Encore were actually BAD releases.  They just didn't match your expectations.
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder

My thoughts, just initial ramblings after a couple of listens...

Eminem's ability to flow always impresses me. At his best, the way in which he plays with rhythms and how certain syllables fall makes you rethink how you expect an emcee to ride a beat. There were several points on this song where I thought 'the way he said that was really clever'. And while the topic is totally played out, some of the lyrics are nice.

The beat? There's nothing wrong with it. It's polished, hits the right note in terms of mood, and is brilliantly mixed (the clarity, as always with Dre productions, is so good). But at the same time, there's nothing remotely new about it. I can never help but think Dre spends so much time in the studio, probably not listening to much other hip-hop, that he's still stuck in this 'eerie, strings and piano' sound that he's been rocking for eons now. I'm not suggesting that he should follow whatever trends are hot, but sometimes you'd like to feel he'd moved with the times.

I have no words to explain how bad this is... well, I do actually. The beat is like 13 in a dozen (in the 90s that could have been a positive aspect, but in this day of time it certainly is not) and the raps are like Eminem after MMLP.

You sound like Dre-Day here. Both releases sucked and you know it.

I don't agree with.  It's that simple.  I thought Kingdom Come was dope for a variety of reasons most of which come from Jay trying to be as honest as possible with where he was as his life.  I don't have a problem with the production or his rapping.  There's a couple tracks I didn't bump that's how I'm with most albums.   I also liked Encore for similar reasons.  But, more importantly, I enjoyed Encore because it was dressed as comical but it was also reflective.  Rain Man is one of my favorite tracks by him.  I think people that that call Encore strictly comical farts jokes should go back and listen to the album again.

You can take the difference while I move on from the conversation.  You're only about telling people what they like and hating.  Instead of providing your opinion and reasoning you just say "It sucked." You keep coming back to talk shit and to tell everyone what they should think is dope.

People like what they like.  Move on!

Of course. No way I'm gonna listen to the album again so I can give constructive criticism. It's already bad enough I listened to it once or twice.

Encore had a few good songs but it was ems worst album.I loved kingdom come for the lyrics.jay showed growth as a man and an emcee but people turned on him because they wanted the same old crap.So he made american gangster which was so boring to hear a 38 year old rapping about a life he hasn't lived in over ten years.boring.but this forum loves boring repetitive crap hence why theirs so many fans of dpg on here.

The accent is barely noticable on this. Quit crying about it. This song is nice, I like it.
:nawty:

you should respect that a lot of people are bothered by it.

i am really having a hard time believing that this is his tribute to Proof. ???

this is all the anger & sorrow he has had built up since it happened? thats weak.
you were naive if you really hoped that he would come strong on this track.

i already warned you about it

I really like it, Dres production give a sort of movie feel to the track, the lyrics and flow match this, i do see where people are comin from with the accent but i dont think that takes alot away from the track,

I'm diggin' this. Relapse doesn't seem to be any kind of "must-get-the-first-day-out" album, but IMO 2/3 of the tracks so far have been cool. I'm getting it, just not expecting it blow my fuckin' mind.

[EDIT]

OK, after a couple listens with the good headphones, I'm not just diggin' this - this is ill. This is the good old Slim Shady. The dude who whacks off to Hannah Montana, swallows a bunch of drugs, blacks out and commits bloody mass murder. And the rhymes and flows just keep goin' and goin and goin'... The voice Em used was off-putting at first, but now I think it just fits there.

Plus, the beat and lyrics go together pretty much perfectly. They manage to paint a strong image of this sick dude, who seems like a harmless loser but behind the exterior is a psycho killer. This be the shit. Don't write Relapse off as another Encore just yet...

hell no, this is not what it used to be.

this is actually a corny attempt at making a dark track  :P
Chad Vader will love this one though  ;D :nahnah2:
