I know what it meant, the lyrical content and the rhymes were complete shit. The first verse was alright but after that it just descends into mindless childish trash. If it wasn't for the fact that Eminem had 3 fantastic albums before this, then Eminem would not have lasted long. The album was horrible and as for the line at the end, he didn't say shit, or certainly nothing that was worth hearing anyway. You could also say that in knowing that the line laughs at those who will swallow this crap and proclaim it to be something great.i can't c how anybody can call "Encore" that bad. It may not be 'that' shit for you, but it goes hard. like the homie said b4, after 8 mile came out ppl were expecting something different/more mature but they got the same Eminem, just better.do you seriously think Encore >>> all his albums before? i thought you were trying to just make the argument it was a good album; that was at least acceptable lol.

I don't think the rhymes are complete shit. What makes them complete shit? What do you mean worth hearing? How the hell do you decide what artist should spit about? What other artist does material like this?Your legacy comment is moot. It's true for any artist and isn't particular just to Eminem.
Quote but they got the same, just betterI think this bit leads one to believe that you think Encore was superior then his past material.

It's true for any artist and isn't particular just to Eminem.Again it wasn't anything to do with the concept or the content matter, what sucks is the weak rhymes and the mindless bordering on just child like lyrics. It wasn't clever, it wasn't deep, it wasn't witty, the rhymes were so base level that it literally sounded like something which would be concocted from just fucking around in the studio, not something which should find it's way onto the record shelves.

The main reason is because there are so many underwhelming album releass.
Quote from: ^ReLentLess^ on May 18, 2009, 12:42:57 AMbe real.....judging by his work since,em should have retired after mmlpWhy would you say that?I think he still had not reached his peek. I think Eminem's greatest album was The Eminem Show. That album is flawless from beginning to end, and he even produced the majority of the tracks on there. Slim Shady LP and MMLP were both great records as well, but they were shorter and reflected an earlier period is his career, I think Eminem Show is when he came full circle. Then his most successful song ever and the song I believe he will be most remembered for 20 years from now is "Lose Yourself" off the 8 Mile Soundtrack. Also, "8 Mile" rd. is my personal favorite of his. Also, his work on 50's first album and jump starting his career early on can not be forgotten. Then after Get Rich Or Die Trying jumped off Eminem fell off after that and has never been the same since. That's when you really start to notice a difference. But from 1998 to 2003 everything Eminem put out was excellent.
be real.....judging by his work since,em should have retired after mmlp
^personally & i would think the general public would say;MMLP = SSLP > TES > Relapse >>> Encore.but TES was a great album to me, but MMLP & SSLP are two REAL classic albums to me.two of the best albums ever.
