Young Buck - 'Back on my Buck Shit' mixtape
« on: May 29, 2009, 03:34:33 AM »
Anyone else heard this yet? I'd post a link, but that would involve opening another tab and putting it into the Google. I'm pretty sure you guys can handle that part yourselves. It's good to work for things.

Anyway, I liked it. I try not to keep up on too much music from the South in case it makes me stupid, so I don't know how much of this is original production versus Buck rapping over other peoples' instrumentals, but it all sounds pretty cohesive. I recall at least once thinking 'wow, Buck murdered that last rhyme', although I couldn't tell you what he said. Yes I can, it was a rhyme about how many guns he had. He rhymed 'seven' with 'eleven', which is admittedly very simple, but he did it perfectly. So perfectly that I didn't care when the next bar failed to rhyme. True story.

Of course, he makes a few references to how he's not less of a man just because 50 taped him crying, even though we all know he is. But I have no problem with that. I'd rather listen to Buck, who can rap and cries when he gets upset, than 50, whose tear ducts are probably clogged with steriods but who can't rap for shit.

Best tracks, for the record, 'Someone's Gonna Pay' and 'Ups and Downs' with Lil Wayne. The former might not be it's real title. I'm not about to turn the mp3 player on to check.

Buck hasn't been the same since that event.  His music has went downhill in quality and this tape shows him adopting back to the typical souther rapper.  It was better then some of his recent free material but for the most part it was subpar compared to his free tracks post Buck the World.
