Hard to choose a Top 10 - West Coast has sooo many classics that it's almost impossible to pick up only 10 albums...

You obviously not into the Mixtape game. Some of them are basically full fledged albums for free, with original production/lyrics/style. Only reason they can't be sold sometimes, is because Sample issues, or the Artist wants to make a quality product, to build a buzz with out having to put him self out their yet. Cause Contract's will be void if you can't keep up sells. So it helps build buzz.If a artist sells are failing extremely bad (even if its just a debut) then they get dropped from the label. Why waste money producing their album if they can't make it back. Usually Full Album type mixtapes, the artist pays for it himself, or gets free production since no money is being made.

A 'classic' album is one that was huge, lasted the test of time and considered a masterpeice by many. A mixtape from a few years ago that if released wouldn't sell more than 20k - isn't a classic. Speak to me when you hit puberty.

Ice Cube "Kill At Will" is an EP that qualifies though.

If that's the truth (since this is all opinions, and not a thread called "The number 1 albums that changed rap), then basically only be about 20 or 25 albums tops. Albums we hear about all the time. It wold go something like this (just off the top of my head)

Straight Outta Compton
The Chronic
DoggyStyle
All Eyez On Me
Me Against The World
Illmatic
Rakim's album (money something lol can't remember)
2001
The Documentary (This album is generally credited with helping reinforce West Coast Hip-Hop as a viable area of hip-hop after years of obscurity)
The Slim Shady LP
The Marshall Mathers LP
The Eminem Show
Read 2 Die
Life After Death
Amerikkka's Most Wanted
Kill at Will
Death Certificate
The Predator (Lethal Injection wasn't considered a success at the time of its release, and only got more of a "acclaim" as time went by, yet many people see Ice Cube selling out to the G-Funk era, with it being Gangsta rap with little social conscious stuff)"
It take a nation of millions to hold us back - Public Enemy
Ice T's album "Rhyme pays" I think, it was 1 them I know is constantly brought up when people discuss the creation of West Coast Hip-Hop

Shit's their is possibly more, but I'm thinking off the top of my head, but yeah, not a lot of albums, would be qualified under a "Greats" album. I said it in another thread, on what qualifies a album to be "great" and raise the artist to that level (See the Xzibit be considered a great thread).

But yeah, since this is just "Your" top 10 albums, you might bang out a Mixtape more then a Artist.
