Man this is good Seventh Seal is going to be fire.
Let's get along with the Mexicans
And we can all have peace on the sets again
Imagine that if it took place [ha ha ha]
Keeping the smile off their white faces
2pac
Blacks and Mexicans stop all that bullshit in the pen
Understand that is us verse them

Quote

For those that find it hard to believe, and it is
why they call me GOD MC, the lyricist
trace this style to the roots of Genesis
the world wonder of still standing like pyramids
design so vivid, every brick got a story to tell
my rhyme flow different like a hieroglyphic
mind prolific, infinite like mathematics
the first language, now add that and add graphics (go ahead!)
people let the blocks know it's the gospel
life's no manual so watch close
the new Michelangelo or Pablo Picasso
who dared to show you the cosmos and ride flows
either my lyrical, metaphysical
what this will do is help you get to your spiritual pinnacle
you find your mind too far fetched for it to fathom
I bring the darkness to the light, split the atom
It's like watching the big bang theory emerge
I take title, born into billion of verbs
They want a clear view from the farthest and darkest corners of the universe to a corner near you
I'm battling ghetto apparel, stay blinged up
Fort Knox display, a modern day King Tut
wrapped tight, rap like I've been preserved with time
Spit the holy water, touch it, and turn it into wine
It's the GOD

Holy are you
Holy are you
There is no god but you
I am the alpha and the omega

We were children of the most high so we fell
from paradise and holy hell
private descendants of the holy grail
another part of history they won't reveal
times will only tell
we waiting for judgment that came in the form of a thug in the game to create his composition
it's blood in my vein
the chemical is identical, we one of the same
with 7 letters in all 3 of my government names
walk on water? naw leave it to Jesus
it's appearable to make followers and readers to believers
from Egypt to Budapest Rakim is the truest left
understand his scriptures like the Minister Lewis F.
I told you but you ignore me like most the prophets
like Jesus, Solomon, Abraham, Moses and Mohammad
I sold the scholar to fulfill the broken promise
I spit so smooth to predict the future like Nostradamus
like Revelations I'm hoping my cross will reveal the 7 spirits of god when I open the seal
interpret the holy Qur'an, ease flow to guide, translate to Allah
and decode the bible
the eldest in the Mars, Masons, and Allahs
7 churches of synagogue, it's the Renaissance
like the messiah Rakim Allah is about to reveal a bigger secret then time or god

The second half of the second verse is hard for my ears

 ;D 8) 8)

thanks for providing your own personal transcription. I'm really feelin' this track!! fucking jimmy iovine... Dre's Rakim album would've been on some instant classic status. although I really dug all his Aftermath tracks anyway.

this song gave me the same powerful & enlightening feeling I got when I first heard Canibus's OG 'Channel Zero' anyone else get that too?

Another one produced by him:

I wonder if those 3 other "new" joints from that live album was produced by Nick Wiz also.

Nick Wiz is so underappreciated as a producer, it ain't real! He's made lots of dope ass beats.

his shit to me sounds like a mix between Buckwild and Pete Rock

Damn, this shit is sounding nice... Lookin' forward to hearing some more from Ra. 8)

true but its pretty much Dre's fault the expectations are so high. He's spent so much time on, supposedly to perfect it. So people are expecting perfection.

I think it's mostly the media's fault, actually. There's constantly been articles and interviews where Detox is mentioned, hyped up and commented on - and I'd bet that less than 1 % of all the quotes on Detox have actually come from Dre.

Action!

Yeah, I agree Dre said it a couple times on big albums - Documentary "Watch out for Detox" and then Em said shit on the end of Encore "and, oh yeah, Detox is coming. we going to make Dre do it."

Dre's been relatively quite about Detox for the past 6 or so years.
