Diddy's Solo Opus Vs. Wyclef's!
Who got this?

I'm leaning towards Puff's based on the B.I.G. spot's + "Can't hold me down" was my shit '97
(Alot of good memories off that song)

Shot out to Clef tho, "The Carnival" is a very underrated album.
(5x million albums sold)

Man that is a tough one. No Way Out played out like a movie, very thematic. And it was heavy on the guests but they all fit the album so well. Carnival for me was everything I would have expected from a Wyclef solo and more. Really used alot of different sounds and elements that really had not been heard in hip hop either ever or in a while. More of a universal sound to it, if ya love jazz, raegee, hip hop and rock you would dig that album. Gonna have to bump both again and come back to this one lol.

+ it get's even harder when you throw in the Remixes/Singles non album songs that were spawned off both albums & combine them w/their OG's...

The Carnival
"Gone till November (Makin' Runs remix)" (Feat: R. Kelly & Canibus)
"Guantanamera" (Roxanne, Roxanne/Oye Como Va Remix)
"No Airplay/Men In Blue" (Feat: Youssou N'Dour)
"Cheated" (To All The Girls Remix)
"What's Clef?" (LL Cool J Diss)
ect....

No Way Out
"No Way Out" (Feat: Black Rob)
"Can't Nobody Hold Me Down (Bad Boy Remix)" (Extended Club Version) (Feat: Ma$e)
"Bad Boy's Been Around The World (Remix)" (Feat: Ma$e)
"Victory (Drama Mix)" (Feat: The Notorious B.I.G. & Busta Rhymes)
"It's All About The Benjamins (Shot-Caller Rock Remix)" (Feat: The Notorious B.I.G., Lil' Kim & The L.O.X.)
ect....

That Gone Till November remix with Kells and Bis was pure fire.

Diddy's album was better, really only because of the guest appearances though.

Well both Puffy and Wyclef are some corny motherfuckers.  But as far as albums go, it's No Way Out easily.  I mean there are some true classics on that record...that Victory joint? :o :o :o :o

And the most underrated joint on there, It's like track 8 or 9, it's got a sick piano all throughout, and maybe Faith on the hook?  Called "Do You Know" or somethin like that...anway it's Puff's best job as an MC (that's not saying much for him, but still).

Carnival was cool, but isn't touching No Way Out.

Peace.

These were two of the first hip hop albums i got into. At first i thought the carnival was superior to no way out in every way, it was only as i listened to more hip hop that i grew to like no way.

Both are personal classics to me but im going to go with the carnival.

I feel the same way, Both albums can & will never be topped by either artist.
(Defo personal classics)

I liked the Carnival, but never got down with it front to back.

Now Puff's cd was on some classic commercial shit, loved it front to back.

Aside from the obvious crossover hits, Senorita and I Love You Baby (ft. Black Rob)

Like Haterats said, a lot of good memories off the PD album.

But for real, Clef sure made a unique album though.
