I liked rotten apple as well.I thought it was a better album then his first

I wouldn't go as far as to say it was better than Hunger For More but it definitely had some heaters on it. "Make A Move" was straight fire, for those that havent heard it :

There were probably actually only about 4 songs I didn't like on the album, rest was heat...

Rotten Apple had too much of a mixtape feel to it for me.

he killed some tracks, but it didn't sound like an album; the best songs on Hunger For More were better than the best off Rotten Apple.

Cake was a dope track! One of my fav Lloyd Banks tracks, the beat was vintage gunit. Shame they tried to make another Fire with Hands Up though. And i agree it was very mixtapish in sound and it was rushed cause Banks had the original stolen lol

I'm not sure why but I really enjoy Iceman.  I'm not usually big on those type of tracks but there's something about that one

My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter

Recline, in the mean time, twenty three shine, diamond bling blind as I rewind

lol@banks being beyond most other rappers out there  ;D

Dudes so average, USUALLY spits nothing and both his albums are terrible. His first had its moments, but overall the cat wasnt saying shit and his second was simply wack.

He aint nothing but a feature rapper. Stick to dropping 16's once in a while, makes u look abit better. Dude got outshone on beg for mercy by buck and failed TWICE in two attempts on his albums. Average at best.

i think he means that Banks doesn't have a real message going on in any song; which is the same case for 95% of rappers lmao.

He means there is no story or concept, the tracks themselves are less verses and more just a collection of punchlines which don't lead anywhere. However I kind of disagree, as I thought his first album proved that he wasn't a one trick pony. What I do notice about Banks though, is unless the beat is a standout, or has a heavy sound to it, his voice becomes really grating.

Yeah Banks gets boring quick. Punchline after punchline, same shit with Fab and Wayne. These type of rappers have a short expiration date, I'd take a storyteller over them any day. That's why I loved Ultimate Victory, it had best of both worlds.

yeah, these are the best four songs Banks has ever made, not bar for bar; but as full, complete songs.

I understand what you're saying about his songs not being tied to a strict concept but I only take that into consideration when it's for an official album.  His mixtapes are exactly as you said, usually bars after bars tied loosely together by a concept.

Sometime they excel like Shine Thru and Best Kept Secret other times they fall flat.

I don't agree that he's not saying anything.  He is.  Maybe it's not what you desire him to spit but he's still spitting about something.  I don't look for Banks to spit about America or politics or any social issue.  Him and G-Unit never presented themselves as those type of artists.  They've always been more strictly club/street music, sometimes revealing the personal tip but for the most part they've stuck to their guns (what they claim to be) extremely well despite all the naysayers.

I don't listen to him all the time but I don't listen to Budden all day or Saign or Ortiz or Eminem.  It depends on my mood.  Sometimes I want an intricate story, sometimes I just want to hear Banks spitting hot bars with nice flow, decent beat, and conviction.
