A DVD and 7 unreleased 92-94 death row era tracks are more than enough reason to cop this again.

Are they "unreleased" or just rare... These things are to be determined, it depends on which tracks too.

Hoe Hopper and Doggystyle in CDQ is what im hoping for

Once they get the Rereleases done, I want the unreleased material. The Chronic 2 Poppa's Got A Brand New Funk is what I want.  lol Cover is dope, I really like the concept also.

Not gonna happen. You might get some Dre studio scraps but he never really put some serious work into making the album and he sure didn't finish it.

I don't like it, they should've just left it the same as the original with the writing Re-lit under digitally remastered & in small letters.

Yeh me too, because they've never done that before in the past 11 years  ::)

The "hoe hopper" was a pretty shitty track if you ask me.  I mean, I liked it but I can see why it was left off (they should slow it down, the track seems a lil' fast).

But those 7 tracks coming out will probably be mainly Originals and Remix Versions of other tracks and maybe 1 or 2 "new" tracks.  But it would be the shit if we got 7 or 8 all new bangers.  If you remember back then Dre was making funk music hip hop remixes for his records like "Let Me Ride" and "What's My Name" and so on, so who knows we might all get something we didn't expect.  I just hope it's all HARDCORE Hip Hop like "Deep Cover" and "Nigga Wit A Gun".  I like the good times music but I want that ignorant shit... lol real talk!

And shit for all we know "The Chronic II: PGABNF" could have like 7 or 8 different versions (even if it's just production wise on some tracks).  Shit we can only image how many versions of Detox (2005-2009) are done to this day.  1991-1996 of straight studio crankin', Dre got probably thousands of records, maybe not all completed but most likely hundreds are.

Back to the topic, it's not a bad cover, but it's just a little cheap considering that it was created with a one click Photoshop plug-in. They could have gotten a little more creative.

Either way, I'm desperately trying to keep an open mind with this project, but I just have a feeling it won't live up to the hype.

*keeping my fingers crossed*

BTW: Don't forget since Dre was sampling like crazy back then, WIDEAwake is going to have to clear any samples that weren't cleared back in the day. Not sure if the tracks that never appeared on Chronic were fully cleared.

I like the cover quite a bit, but I agree with you that the cover ultimately won't be what determines whether or not this set is worth the money.
As far as the sample clearances though, if Wideawake isn't williing to pay to use the samples then they shouldn't have even bothered. Their willingness to use the original beats with original samples is is what's going distinguish them from companies like Amaru.  If they're not willing to do that, I don't really see the point.
