The brawl occurred at the 2000 Source Awards (it was the same year that DJ Quik was arrested prior to the show). Anyways, my main question is that if Suge felt this way about Tha Realest, why did he 1) not kick him off the label sooner and 2) have him featured on Too Gangsta 4 Radio?

Suge wasn't in control of the label at that point. I mean, he had final say so but Reggie and Michel'le were in control. Reggie and Realest are still cool with each other. It benefited Suge as well to keep him on, because it made him money being a 2Pac biter and all, plus he just stopped fucking with Tha Row after that because his contract didn't expire until a few years later. If Suge doesn't like your antics or your attitude towards things, he's going to keep you there for a good while in artist purgatory. He tried doing it to Crooked I for when he spoke to Irv behind Suge's back.

He did it to K9 as well when he was no longer affiliated with Death Row - his contract didn't expire until 2006, so he technically stayed on until then. Plus, it's bad business to put your views about the artist in public. See, only reason that Suge doesn't like people like Dr. Dre or Snoop is because they didn't sign over their publishing and shit. Also, the jury was paid a good 4 million in Snoop's case for the murder trial - so he owes Suge.

Anyhow, I will ask more about the situation but all you got to do is ask the two dudes (one being a producer and the other being a Death Row artist) about Tha Realest and they'll tell you. I'd say on here, but Realest really tries blackballing dudes who know the truth about his sheisty ways. There's also a real fucking stupid reason Realest doesn't like K9.

LOL at Tha Realest being important enough to try blackballing people in the industry. I heard the reason for K-9 leaving was because of the "Makaveli's riders scared to ride" line off "Gangsta'd Out".

Trust me, Realest has big hook ups. He can and will blackball dudes. K9's reason for leaving was jail time, not because of some line that Realest took offense to.

Realest got put on MOB back when he first arrived to LA. This is a major reason why he had such good treatment on Death Row, was the most showcased artist on "Chronic 2000". He had several MOB members on stage with him at his show in Hollywood 2 weeks ago, he's in with all the OG's in Leuder's Park.

I don't know where all these wacky stories came from. But him leaving Death Row did have something to do with Suge, but nothing to do with

A) 2Pac

or

B) Being shot.

The bottom line is, this was 8 years ago. As of now, there's no drama there, they associate with the exact same people, and they've spoken in recent years.

That makes sense so that's why the whole Crooked I situation turned out so sour.  I remember the first Crooked I interviews post-Death Row, everyone kept asking him what happened with the whole situation at Death Row.  he said he recorded the album it was all set and ready to go and for some reason suge didnt want to release it so he pulled the album last minute before they pressed it (they had that official release date and it was in sept 2001 i believe).  Then he said, Suge wanted him to re-record the album so he said he re-recorded it multiple times and "hoodstar" was supposed to be the new single.  Now we've heard tracks from the album that have leaked and it seems like it would have been a straight classic.  What happened with Irv Gotti that would make Suge say he is going to blackball his own artist who would have been the big solo artist drop around the time people started talking about the row again and they were on The Source magazine plus all the promo that was going on Jimmy Kimmel, radio interviews, etc.  He had billboards he paid for with promos and the three track promo series, all the tracks sounded great.  I know Crook featured on Ashani's "Baby" remix and video and him and east did some tracks with Murder Inc. but why would Suge blackball his leading artist?  Plus him and Irv were friends it seemed. Seems like you're right on with that but wasn't there more to the story then just Irv Gotti? I remember how disgusted he sounded in those interviews after he announced he was off the label.  From a business standpoint, wouldn't Suge have benefitted by releasing the material and reaping the benfits?

Well, Crooked I spoke to Irv about signing with The Inc. while Suge was incapacitated again. When Suge got wind of it, it seemed like Crooked I was going behind his back. Suge wasn't having it on, on top of that Crooked I did other things to upset Suge.

yeah, that's true.  I heard he's networked in with mike bibby and gavin and joey maloof who own the palms casino in vegas, sacaramento kings, liquor licensing rights in new mexico, and mainly, they own big stakes in universal -- if he had that kind of pull he could have Universal who has ties to most major labels including Interscope and movie contracts put a blackball on an artist. That's big stuff right there.

From listening to the album, some of the old tracks like "mind of a madman," "grown ass man," and "witness tha realest" which were around since 2004 that they threw on there he sounds like his old Cali-self on there.  Then, on the newer tracks like "Get It N" and many of the others he's talking about trips to Florida a lot and repping Texas to the fullest.  So it seems like he used to rep Cali as his primary soil, and now he is kinda repping Cali but now mostly Texas and he switched his flow on some of those newer tracks.  Is he not repping Cali as much as he used to?

Some questions I always wondered about:

Is Wideawake going to release Tha Realest music such as some of his albums and is he going to be on that Christmas Box Set?

Was the album title "Witness Tha Realest" inspired by the album title "All Eyez On Me" (i.e. witness = all eyez) (tha realest = me) ?

Also, who was officially in 'The Last Circle', was that Vk, Swoop G, Queen, Doobie, Top Dogg, and Twist?

And were the Terror Twinz from texas or los angeles?

Was Tha Realest and Young Doobie roommates in the Chronic 2000 days?

Is using the Tenkemenin alias he started with on his next album to get away from the comparisons to pac and he's probably going to use his newer 'Texas sounding' flow?

I'm a fan of his music and I look forward to hearing any responses.

I wonder why Suge had Crooked as the first video on Dysfunktional Family OST?  This was way after the Say Hi To Tha Bad Guy getting pulled incident.  I wonder if Suge was giving Crook a 'second chance' to redeem himself?  Crook never came off the same music-wise it seemed after they pulled his release of Say Hi To Tha Bad Guy.

I guess if Wideawake releases Say Hi To Tha Bad Guy that will be Crook's ultimate label revenge when the album has the Death Row logo on it but Suge Knight's name isn't listed as the executive producer.  It seems Crook is pretty excited about getting that album out on his interviews.

That would be a epic Fuck You lol.

Also aroudn the time you have to Remember Suge was pretty much concentrating on taking jabs at the former roster. 2002, Dead Man walking, Chronic 2000. It just seems he let his disdain cloud the judgement. Well what ever I got Say Hi To Tha Bad guy already, and If its released I'd probably still buy it, but the album I want Death 2 Release is Untouchable.  ;D

Lara Lavi really supports Crooked I - 110%. They are offering him an amazing deal.

Love33, don't forget about Mike Lynn at Aftermath. He took a part in signing Game and others. He has a deal with Sony for his own label BIG EGOS ENTERTAINMENT. Realest has big pull with him.

So, he claimed Texas in his newer songs, yet in a interview the first thing he said was "Westside is the best side!" or some shit. lol Nigga is more confused then a bi-polar bitch on her monthly flood.
