Common - Electric Circus - 2002

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - 1967

Just another thing the beatles did years ago.  Good cover, though.  Can anybody name everybody on it?

The beatles, when they did it, each submitted lists of people they wanted cutouts made of... John listed Hitler and Ghandi.  They wouldn't let him put Hitler on, and Ghandi WAS originally on it, but they airbrushed it out of the final one, because they thought it would offend Hindus if Ghandi was pictured @ the concert (everybody on the cover is watching sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band, and attended the concert.. even the beatles to the left).   Jesus was "Invited" too, but they thought that would be way too contraversial, so they never even made the standup figure.  They made the Hitler figure, but wouldn't let John put it on the set (this was an actual picture, not a painting).

Here's a better picture

For me the best album cover of the year is a toss up between Scarface's' "The Fix" and The Roots' "Phrenology".

As for Com's cover, these are the faces I recognise:

Pharell and Chad (Neptunes)
Jimmy Hendrix
Black Thought and ?uestlove (Roots)
Lorenz Tate
Cee-Lo
Mary J Blige
Jill Scott
Erykah Badu
Q-Tip

Some of the others look like they could be family of his.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Common- Electric Circus.
The idea's not bad, but it just...doesn't look good. See that ridiculously giant headwrap? Yeah, I blame that.
And I liked the cover more when it was:
