XXLMag.com has learned that Snoop Dogg has been named Creative Chairman of the newly resurrected Priority Records, by parent company EMI Music.

Along with the position, Snoop will also be releasing his tenth studio album, Malice N Wonderland, on the famed West Coast label. In addition, the rap superstar will also serve as executive producer for a slew of discs hitting the market soon, in celebration of Priority’s 25th anniversary.

“Starting fresh with EMI is a great feeling,” Snoop said about the partnership in a press release. “It’s a new partnership, a new Priority Records, and a new Snoop Dogg: the Creative Chairman…the Boss Dogg…the Dogg Father. The business model we’ve developed will bring the musical heritage of groups like N.W.A. to the forefront. And you definitely got to get ready for my new Album Malice N Wonderland in December to kick it all off — this is going to be the most potent dose of Snoop Dogg yet!”

“Snoop has been a huge force in Rap and a big influence on the Urban genre in general,” Leonard Brooks, Senior Vice President of Urban A&R for EMI Music added. “In addition to possessing an original artistic voice, Snoop is also a true tastemaker, trendsetter of style and a global ambassador of Hip-Hop. We’re elated to release his next record, and to have Snoop re-introduce some of the most ground-breaking Rap recordings to new fans as Creative Chairman of Priority Records.”

Priority Records’ catalog includes a long list of high selling LPs by such rap luminaries as N.W.A, Eazy-E, Master P, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Run-D.M.C., EPMD and others

Man I miss the good old days of Priority Records. They had Mack 10, Bad Azz, Mc Eiht, Snoop, etc etc etc

This is gonna suck tho. Snoop's proved time and time again that he's NOT a CEO. The only Priority were going to see is his albums. He'll never release anyone else.

I guess MTV didnt know what to do, probably why the album got pushed until december, lets hope they promote it right, no cheap ass videos, right singles and stuff, as for Snoop being Chairman, maybe he will work hard to step his game up... Nipsey hussle on Priority, wouldnt be a bad thing ;)

Hopefully it leads to deals for Soopafly, Dogg Pound, Kurupt and Daz to release some albums. Rid of themselves crooked ass Koch and have marketing support.

Leave the mastering to the experts and people who originally did it..

The whole thing sounds very interesting, but I don't think that we will see any other releases than his own LP's plus some re-releases of old stuff. Hip Hop is dead, nobody is buying CD's and rap CD's now less than ever. I don't see a movement behind it and I don't see a market for it. Maybe he can get Xzibit to release his next album on there, maybe Too Short and maaaaaaybe Crooked I after that Slaughterhouse record. But I'm not having hopes at all.
Wasn't Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Bo$$ his last record on Priority? It's my 2nd favourite Snoop album, maybe he can get quality back, lol.

And to those people posting the collaboration list: I don't believe none of that shit!
Guest appearences are always dashing forward out of the internet in the run-up of a Snoop Dogg release and most of the time it's bullshit. Even Snoop himself said he was going to have David Banner production on Ego Trippin... I will believe such a line-up when I see something official in maybe 2 months.

Anyway, it would be the best thing to have just Teddy, Quik and Pharrell doing the production imo... and yeah, some Fredwreck would be nice.
