Crips - where blue, c-walk, rolling 60's, crips come from a cops word, snoop is a crip

Blood - where red, bounce, quik is/was a blood, travels through our veins

well actually i was watchin a documentry on gangs in america an they said that crip is a acryonym (sp) for community revolution in progress,  they didnt mention what snoop said in his book

The name of the book is: Monster Kody The Autobiography of an L.A Gang Member...

I've read books, and watched documentaries as well. And there are different theories and opinons about the formation of the gang and the origin of the word "Crip".
I'ma post what I know later, that way you learn more bout it. But there are still gonna be poeple who say it was like this and that.

According to the Death Row book by Ronin Ro:

15-16 year olds in Cali who weren't old enough to join a gang formed their own and named it in homage to the Avenue gang and called themselves the 'Baby Avenues'.  They then changed it to 'Avenue Cribs' in reference to babies sleeping in cribs.  They did a robbery and the shopkeeper they robbed wasn't American and didn't speak English very well started yelling "Cribs Cribs" but because of his broken English it sounded like "Crips Crips".  A journalist picked up on this and reported the robbery as being carried out by the "Crips".  The name stuck and the Crips grew.

That's how the name started

Crips were actually originally formed frum the black panthers. Jus as tha black panthers they were formed in order to protect themselved and their neighborhoods frum crooked cops. they got involved in drug distribution to support tha gangs. then the bloods were formed shortly after, to protect themselves frum tha crips. Crips are the majority gang in tha LA area. Where i am, San Diego, Bloods dominate. Although bloods n crips are rivals....they kill eachother more then tha kill tha others. in otherwords...bloods kill more bloods then crips, n crips kill more crips then bloods. Mostly because they usually occupy tha same spaces. not all bloods or crips only represent red n blue. in San Diego different sets use different colors. usually by rags. Red, Burgundy, Green, Black, Grey n so on. those are all blood sets, but by sportin them different colors as well as red...u know wha neighborhood they frum. theres differences also that have been mentioned by sum people. like tha crip walk, n otha shit like that. Also, B's n C's wordz. For yall who listen to Snoop or tha Eastsidaz...listen closely to how they say words sumtimes. Bloodz will replace words that start with a C....to a B. like tha word "Comedy" would become "Bomedy". Cripz do tha same shit. In tha song "Dippin" frum snoop....he says "Dippin down Long Beach Coulevard (pronounces it Soulevard)". In anotha song they say "Lemme show yah muthafuckaz how its meant tah Ce (ratha then Be)". Also, for all of u who spell shit with a CC in yur words. thats crip shit too. Like tha words "Kick Back". a blood would say "Bick Back". a crip would say it as, "Cicc Cacc". so they dont write tha CK in the word (Crip Killa). Bloods call eachotha "Blood", crips call eachotha "Cuz" usually. Crabz n Slobz are derogitory words for Cripz n Bloodz, (dont call sumbody that shit unless u ready tah get shot by tha way). Anywayz....i aint got time to explain Everything. cus this shit iz deeper then yall think. it aint as simple as Crips wear blue...bloodz wear red.....n they hate eachotha. n by tha way, dont get confused wit watcha see on tv. true bangin is bad, especially in kali. but it aint wha it used to be. it used to be a str8 war....jus killin back n forth all tha time. now, especially out here...its slowed down alot. which is good. everybody still reps bloods n crips. n drama still pops off, but lately muhafuckaz are more intah paper chasin. so it aint so violent like befo. but anywayz, maybe ill drop more shit lata...peace
