P. Diddy officially signs with Interscope

Didnt know if you guys knew this....(worst situation possible)

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has signed with the Interscope/ Geffen A&M label in a deal which includes his future albums and creates a new joint venture with Combs' Bad Boy label.

The first release on the new Bad Boy/Interscope joint venture will be Combs' own upcoming album Last Train To Paris, Interscope said in a statement on Tuesday (September 29).

No financial terms were disclosed and the length of the deal was not disclosed.

Previously, Combs and Atlantic Records label had a deal that lasted almost five years.

The current Bad Boy roster and catalog will remain with th label's joint venture with Atlantic which was once valued at $60 million.

Combs' run with Atlantic was mixed with hits from TV reality show act Danity Kane and hip hop/R&B artists like Yung Joc and Cassie between 2006 and 2007. But in the last two years Bad Boy has had limited chart-topping success.

Interscope, which is headed by Jimmy Iovine, has a long history with hip hop and at times courted controversy with partnerships with labels like Death Row Records in the nineties.

Today it is home to labels like rapper 50 Cents' G-Unit Records and Eminem's Shady Records but also pop artists like Lady Gaga and Nelly Furtado.

2. Couldn't care less.
3. Somehow the Aftermath camp will use this as their excuse to further push everything back.

Yea Interscope headquarters located in Santa Monica, CA overlooking Dr. Dre's Aftermath is definitely not westcoast related  ::)

I don't think that matters.  Puff is an East Coast head, and Interscope isn't a rap label, they're probably just distributing, so it's not too pertinent.  It doesn't matter where their headquarters are.
