A genre thats been around for 30 years against one thats been around for about 60.I would hope it would have more hits.

And modern rock is awful.Hip hop is doing better rock then rock by a long shot in the last ten years.Really,what good bands have come out lately.

for real though, hip hop can NEVER compare to rock.  rock has been around for too long and is enjoyed by everyone.  hip hop is very young compared to rock and is not enjoyed by everyone.  especially when talking about the shit, literally, on the radio.

To clarify, the bitch comment was not directed towards you but to the thread creator.

As for rock music, you like what you like.  I don't think you should be dismissive of the music simply because you don't like it.  In the past ten years we've had Radiohead, Coldplay, Agaisnt Me, Animal Collective, Eli Paper Boy Reed, Rage Against The Machine, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Brand New, Casino, Say Anything, Chevelle, Kate Nash, Ingrid Michaelson, Mogwai, Do Make Say Think, Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Converge, Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, Ryan Adams, Bright Eyes, etc.

I listed more popular, some not so much.  Some more strictly rock, some pop rock, some hardcore, some country, etc.

My only point is while one might not enjoy the music it doesn't mean it's bad.  And, you recognize that but I still find you comment about 2 rock bands in the past ten years to be degrading.

nah action IMO i can kind of see where jay is goin wit that..im not speakin for him but in general many would say the same thing and IMO its cuz they mainly listen to one genre or sort of muzik
i used to think the same, and i still listen to more rap than anything but i try and listen to rock more
but thats only cuz i gave it chance
true some/many rock songs or bands arent the best but they are some that have made bangers, but from this side lookin in....rap muzik might have made more and by that i mean i can listen to more rap muzik than rock but thats jus me, maybe you like rock more and its vice versa for you and others
