It's funny how that time frame from the west the gangsta rap gets recognition, and well derserved, but like a few other posters have stated, you had Pharcyde, the whole Heiro camp, Soul Assassins, Likwit Crew and a gang of other groups that were doing they thang around that time as well. The West is more diverse then what people give it credit for, even today.

You actually DID have alot of dope ass albums coming from the south around that period as well. Scarface, Rap-A-Lot, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Big Mike, and Master P was starting to make noise as well towards 96.

great music, some classic songs & albums, but not much that compares to the East & West.

I don't know about that lol. I will go as far to say this though, the amount of classic albums from the south was not as much as the east and the west but there were a couple classic albums during that time frame from there that stand the test of time IMO.

I think the west got it. From Chronic to Makaveli... the west was unstoppable. Lets not forget Black Sunday, Predator, Regulator, Above the Rim and Murder Was the Case soundtracks, and for good measure, Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde, At the Speed of Life and 21 & Over.

shit, forgot about those and also 93 'til infinity

East & West 92-96 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>*quadrillion more*>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the World 04-09. 8)

no fuckin doubt

I was thinking the same thing man. Black Sunday gets all the shine but Temples Of Boom was and still is a very underrated classic album to me from Cypress.
