I think all of his material has been rather consistent since Get Rich.  There's always been two or three poor tracks on his albums.  The rest have ranged from average to dope.  This last album is no exception.  The major difference is the atmosphere of the album is unlike his past releases.  It's raw unlike his past efforts which were more polished especially Curtis (which is slept on).

I'm still convinced people love to hate 50.  He makes good music and is good for the genre.
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter

Nobody gonna mention how 50 really sold about 90K?

But he released his album on Itunes last week (the 9th) and so for the 1st time, they decided to put the itunes sales together with the actual album sales.

I will not be surprised if Snoops album sells 50000k first week, nobody want to buy albums anymore they rather want singles.
Nobody wants to buy albums because nobody is making albums. They are making 1 or 2 hit singles that make good ring tones and putting 10-15 song worth of garbage. Why bother?

I think all of his material has been rather consistent since Get Rich.

fuck outta here, GRODT was a classic. Every album since has declined in quality. His flow is garbage now.

Get Rich wasn't a classic.  Everybody co-signs that bcuz it's 50's best SELLING album but it wasn't as good as his future releases.  Take the tracks off the GRODT Sdtrk and Tha Massacre ("best of" so to say) and it shits all over GRODT

if you took the best songs from his last three CDs, you couldn't formulate a tracklist as good as Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

Wanksta
What Up Gantsta
Patiently Waiting
Many Men
In Da Club
High All The Time
Heat
If I Can't
Back Down
P.I.M.P.
21 Questions
Don't Push Me

i was going into making that list just naming a few songs, but i couldn't cut any of these songs out; all are mad dope.

GRODT is hands down his best work lyrically (& he isn't all that lyrical), production-wise & hook-wise.

tha massacre

in my hood
im supposed to die tonight
candy shop (fuck watchu gotta say)
get in my car
ski mask way
baltimore love thing
ryder music
gunz come out
hate it or love it remix

get rich soundtrack

hustler's ambition
what if
window shopper (best memorable line since the "in da club" hook that i can think of"
i dont know officer
talk about me
when it rains it pours (yessir)
best friend (i liked this song)
i'll whip yo head boy (would've been a bomb ass bonus)

those tracks are pretty much more memorable than the GRODT album.  i liked that album when it first came out but listening to 50's newer shit gave me a change of judgement.

50 has been consistent since Get Rich.  That is to say all of his albums post Get Rich or Die Trying have been on par with each other.  Each one goes for a different sound but they are no better or worse than the other.   That is to say the majority of the tracks on each album range from average to dope.  Each album has a couple of tracks I don't enjoy (candy shop, amusement park.)

The biggest critique of his albums I have post Get Rich has been the lack of a consistent atmosphere for his albums.  Both The Massacre and especially Curtis suffer from hardcore sounding tracks followed by pop acts (candy shop & amusement park).  Now we have Before I self Destruct which is the most consistent in atmosphere since Get Rich or Die Trying.   It's a New York sound and very much a modern boom-bap album.

I do consider Get Rich or Die Trying a classic album.  I'm not someone who thinks you have to be the most lyrical bombarding cat to be considered classic.  There are plenty of ways to tell a story and 50 successfully told his story on Get Rich.  The atmosphere matched the tracks and the content.

I also think Curtis was a poor album (as in it did not feel like an album) but was not bad (I enjoy the majority of the tracks.)  In fact the only two tracks I don't enjoy are Fully Loaded Clip and Amusement Park.   Tracks like Peep Show & Fire are not your typical 50 sound but I thought they were dope.   They did not help the flow of the album but they were still good tracks.

For another artist that has stepped outside of his sound and I fully enjoy is Jay-Z's Ghetto Techno.  Jay's version of techno is dope.  His next album should be more variation like that.

i might be able to agree with that, but i still preder GRODT to bump.

but some tracks on POTD are just fuckin' insane.

regardless, nothing on the Massacre, Curtis or BISD come close to either POTD or GRODT.

all the songs you guys have been naming are like 3.5-4/5 songs; where as his first two albums are filled with 4.5-5/5 tracks.

50's been on a stready decline, it's obvious; although BISD was a nice improvement from Curtis for me. 8)
