They didn't have 2Pac to write for them, and to guide them. Plain and simple. They were just average rappers. The best of the group (IE: Fatal, Storm, Kadafi, Mussolini) either died or left the group further exposing their weaknesses by having no strong fore runner in the group. Napoleon broke out to go solo, which by any means didn't say much about the overall strength of the group

I liked the Outlawz, but after consistent poor releases, song choices, and general attitude (being cool with Mobb Deep despite their disses long after 2Pac died for an example) made me loose major respect for them

What made it worse was their continual milking off of a man, on songs, music, artwork, and even concerts. Some may say that they have a right to, and their reasoning was that they would rep and ride for him (despite it being a contradiction when they make peace with people Pac disliked) and they said that they would keep his name alive..  ??? to what? a handful of fans? Be cool if they were finally tuned mainstream acts or rapped to a large global audience and well known, but they were unknown indy artists by large, which by using 2Pacs well known name reeks of "manipulating" and explotation to gain some attention

I'd have no problem if they could make songs, and an album without the use of Makaveli, or 2Pac over it, establish their "Own" fan base first before raping 2Pacs name for their own recognition

"Novakane" was actually one of their best projects. The thing is in 1996 when Pac was around, he made them a priority. He gave them leadership and allowed them to get on some classic songs. Once you took him out of it, they were good for awhile as far as artists looking out for them based on their love for Pac but people move on quickly and the leadership was no longer there. I think if Pac had had the time to establish them as a group on his own label, they could have done some damage but thing is they never had a hit record that wasn't a feature on a Tupac song. Now, once you take Pac out of there and Kadafi dies within months of that, it's hard for them not to get lost in the industry bullshit. As artists, their music stayed what it was for years. They didn't fall off. They just didn't have spotlight or guidance coming through the way it was when their mentor was here. Pac seemed like that rare breed who would push for his people and in my estimation, he was taking hits in places as an artist so his friends didn't have to. Once he was there, the vultures could sort of swarm around what was left. I think they were wise enough as a group to not get fucked but there was the problem of there not being anyone around to push for them anymore.

There music career died back in 96 when PAC died there careers died too.

Close but not true... there deathrow album retribution was classic in my opinion! the album was released as a mix tape! wideawke need to release that if they have the rights to it.

The whole album leaked in CDQ untagged version.

okka you got the link???

But the situation changes. It's not like a person dies and the people they are cool with and not cool with is set in stone. You can say they were wrong for handling the beef with Mobb Deep but who can say that three years down the road if Pac was still breathing, he wouldn't have made peace with some of these people and had problems with some of the people he was cool with? Outlawz were there and had direct contact with Pac regularly so they have a better way of judging it.

But the ones who still dissed 2Pac on the sly after his death were ones Outlawz also made peace with. Hench why K9 came out with his comments: "Makaveli Riders scared to ride", which others misinterpreted for general 2Pac supporters, but it was towards The Outlawz

is it not because they didnt work with johnny j or qd3? of course pac was major to them and they should work with other producers but they could have done better with jj and qd3.

i think they had dope albums too, novakanae and ride wit us or collide with us was a dope album

Ride Wit us Or Collide wit us was a weak album. Novakane was slightly better, and a decent effort, but long after - the passion and heat displayed in several Death Row songs in their delivery was lost, and they wound up sounding like typical South rappers shortly after. That entire Napoleon 2 CD set Thug Scriptures is very weak lyrically, and is only survived by Johnny J's production, but even then the production isn't top notch and gets repetitive. It just sounds very cheaply made at some points, and I personally believe the reason it was never released was because of that, not because of Napoleons religion. Religious rappers release albums all the time without any problems
