The first one, which ever it was.

Prolly "The Message".

I'd also like to add:

"I Gave You Power" by Nas
"Kim" by Eminem (Guilty Conscience and Stan were already mentioned).

"Tech N9ne - Cursed" great track of Anghellic  8)

Peace
She started letting me and my boys hit together
Me and Pac hit the slot now it's out in the open
Didn't take long, to make her get it on, came on strong
And Thugs Get Lonely Too was our slogan - "TECH N9NE"

Nas - "One Mic" use of loudness of voice and production to match intensity of subject matter in lyrics.
Nas - "One Love" preceeded the letter format Eminem used.
Common - "I Used To Love H.E.R." Hip Hop personified as a woman.

I'll go w/ either "Labels", "Animal Planet", "Fame", or "0% Finance" by GZA. "I Used To Love H.E.R." (Common) is dope, too. Can't forget "Me & My Girlfriend" (Makaveli)...
