It's either

outkast

No one else, not even Dre & Snoop, have released such consistent dope material as these two

Don't listen to much Red and & Meth.  Name their best work (albums) together.

in terms of impact, Dre & Snoop or Dre & Em.

but Mobb Deep or Outkast are probably the best duo/groups.

Eric B. & Rakim too. 8)

(pre-Curtis) 50 Cent and The Game anyone ?  ;D ;D please dont hate, i just wanted to share a duo i liked alot.

na, no hate; they dropped some dope shit together. 8)

To me it's like you can't consider someone a duo if they're not actually recording and releasing music together.  So, Dr.Dre and Snoop Dog aren't a duo nor are 50 Cent and Game.

A duo is a team.  They are the act.  They're a group.  Clipse, Outkast, & Dead Prez are duos.

Hell to me Gang Starr is not a duo.  It's really just Guru with Dj Premier as the producer.  It's no different than Eminem with Dr.Dre handling the bulk of production.   They're not a duo, it's one MC and a producer.  If you want to talk best duo as in 1 producer & 1 mc then my answer would be different.
