yeah, try that first.
if it doesn't help, i have another tool that might work

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
could you click on that to see if the site has any solutions?

hehe ok.

well not sure if this works, but it's worth a try.
could you go to the device manager again, and click on the harddrive with the exclamation mark ( off course, the drive needs to be connected)?

go to the 'drivers' tab( could have a different name in your version)

click on uninstall

when it's done, disconnect your drive.

Thanks, but no luck. Dre-Day what do you got ?
well, you have spybot search and destroy installed right?
the installer came with a separate program, called file shredder

to check if it's installed, go to the start menu and look under "spybot - search and destroy"

if not, download spybot again http://www.safer-networking.org/download/index.html
make sure you select file shredder during the install process.

Found it, I shred it and it says "done" but the files are still there.

Well, I managed to delete several files, only one folder left that's acting like a stubborn bitch.

at least it's getting somewhere

not sure if this works, but if you're willing to try it:
boot in safe mode.

-when you first turn on your computer, you should see something like this:

-press F8 now ( make sure you press this, before the Windows XP logo appears)
-choose safe mode.
-try deleting the folder now.

Also I think I should've mentioned that he power cable is a bit broken. The thing that goes into the harddisk has one of the 4 steel pins broken off.
